A New Family Member and Busy Times…

With all good intentions of posting on the blog more often life happens and despite what is often said it’s difficult to do it all!
We had not been to our beach home in over two months…and it’s only a few hours away from here, so it’s been almost painful not to go. Finally this past weekend…

And although it was a bit brisk out there, it was nice to get away and relax…

We have adopted a new little fur member to our family! Meet Toby, a sweet 7 year old one eyed Maltese who wants to sit in my lap all day long. He belonged to my father-in-law who suffered a stroke and will no longer be able to care for Toby, so we opened our home and hearts to this darling little guy. The pups are all adjusting…
I’ve been TRYING to work on the website shop, adding in a few new/old things and will be listing more soon. This antique 1800’s cherub painting is something that will be listed soon. You might recognize it from some of my magazine shoots as it’s from my own collection and I hope that it finds an appreciative new home soon…
I have a minor (actually major:-) obsession with vintage fabrics and linens and am going through my stash and offer some of it up for sale. Coming as time permits to the shop soon…
And this truly incredible vintage Italian tole huge mirror. Huge. Did I say huge? Oh…and it’s gorgeous!…
And I’ve been enjoying having flowers to surround me, as always…
I’d rather have flowers on my table than diamonds on my neck…
xoxo,
Janet

So glad that you took Toby – I know that your father-in-law feel so much better knowing that his little doggie has a good home. I worry about my two dogs and pray that I out live them as they would not be happy.
Yes, I would rather have flowers than diamonds any day.
So glad that you got away to the beach – that is always so wonderful to smell the water and hear the sounds of the wave.
    Have a great week.

  2. I so agree–would rather have flowers on my table than diamonds on my neck any day! Toby is so adorable. I bet it is an adjustment for your other dogs. Our family always agrees if anything happens to any one in the family we will take that persons pets as our own. I am sure it gives your father in law just one less thing to worry about. Poor guy. Enjoy your new little lap dog!

  3. I'm so glad that you were able to give sweet little Toby a forever home, Janet. He's such a cutie and will make a wonderful big brother to the little ones. 🙂

The beach does wonders for our heart and soul, doesn't it? I'm already counting the days til we return to our beloved little island down there. 🙂

I'm anxiously waiting for your fabric to be posted in your shop. I would love some with pale blues and pinks in it!!

    xoxo laurie
