Inspired By A Forgotten Five Dollar Fabulous Find

Is it possible to gain inspiration from a $5 local tag sale find that was put away in a closet and forgotten for a long stretch of time? Sure…and since I’m not up at the beach house often enough I do forget sometimes what is stored, and today…

I was digging through (organizing?) a closet and found the gorgeous AQUA sari that is something I purchased NOT to wear, but use in my decor…
It’s truly exquisite with the gold beading and sequins against the flowy silk of the fabric! Saris are long to allow for wrapping, and since this table is an 8 ft long one it can be used puddled or draped…
Plain white ironstone dishes, tole in white and aqua wine goblets…along with creamy white roses…
If you’ve been a reader for awhile you are probably familiar with the table, but if not or you want some instructions…you can find that HERE…

I love the combination of the aqua with pinks and at the market a couple of days ago picked up 1/2 price faded flowers…including peonies! Don’t be afraid to ask the floral person at your market for a discount if you see flowers that are past their prime as often they will do that if you just request it!

Generally I’m more of a silver loving girl, but the gold on this sari might have me going out and looking for more golden table accents…
At the flea market of course:~)…
Vintage white linen napkins and some feathers found on the beach today. I love to scour the sand for mementoes that are free…

Majour sari envy over here!! That is beautiful. Over the years I have gotten rid of so many and I find myself wanting them back.

Perfection! Don't you just love finding forgotten treasures? I've done the same, used scarves and other items meant for clothing as home decor, but never had anything close to that prettiness!

  5. Your sari is gorgeous, I love the colors! What a great idea to use it over your table. I love your flamingo pics! I'm on the hunt for a cute one for our guest room but so far, no luck. We're heading to the Fancy Flea in Plant City on Saturday so maybe I'll come across one:)

The sari is gorgeous and the look you have created with it is fabulous. Pink and aqua is my favorite color combination. And I love peonies which I can't grow in Florida. You are so talented I can hardly stand it. Keep inspiring us all–we love it!
