Inspire…The Word…Talking About Paths

I’m getting down to a bit more on a personal level than I normally do on the blog today with a New Year’s Post…
Inspire (my word)…
Talking about paths…

Every new year it seems that I struggle in defining and refreshing my life’s path. Does that happen to you too?

That’s me in the photo above when I first began my adult foray into the world of artistic endeavors, as a twenty something college grad in art trying to find her way and make her stamp…

I started thinking about this while on my path of exercise this morning and how to grow and continue on in the journey without feeling squashed. There are those who will be supportive and are to be treasured. There are those who are “path stompers” and try to squash your dreams if they feel threatened by your success. As if it may take some grains away from their own harvest! I’ve seen it and felt it and yet continue on. Honestly, sincerely and with full speed ahead…
Flowers in my hair, I’ve loved to create for as long as I can remember. A long and winding road. My own path of twists and turns…
I met the love of my life who has always stood by me in my creative dreams. We got married…and then had this girl (below)…
Then another…
Life became busy and full, as it does when you are raising a family…
The older that I become I realize that we don’t really change all that much, we just get older. Time really whizzes by and inside of the older me is still that younger me who can’t wait to start with the promise of what each day will hold…
Imagination, inspiration, reverie, romanticism, dreaming…It’s all still there in my head and my slightly free spirited heart…
Wherever this long and winding road takes me I’ll be staying true to my core. It’s never been about numbers to me. I’m not really good like that…
It’s to daydream and align with like minded daydreamers. To create and be creative. To share and encourage others. To follow my path that I believe is laid out in front of me and achieve it. To be kind along the way. To stay positive and not worry about the naysayers or what others may think. Not to compare or compete and allow it to rob my joy. To have some lofty goals and hopefully help inspire others with their own…Inspire…the word…2015

  2. Hi Janet,
What a beautiful and inspiring post. Thank you for sharing your lovely thoughts and I agree that it's so true that we still hold all those younger dreams inside. I think that's something that many of us bloggers share and why we "get" each other and why we love to share our passions.
Love seeing the photos of you and your family. You are very beautiful.

    hugs

  5. Oh Janet…. you just did "inspire" me!… you were (and are!) so beautiful!… I have known you for a long time now, shopped with you, emailed back and forth with you… admired you… and always have felt like we were two good friends, sipping coffee together and chatting… you are truly "one of a kind"… down to earth, kind, gentle, caring… and well, just YOU!… your creations are also one of a kind… and I am blessed to own so many of them… I too am a daydreamer and a free spirit like you… and I totally understand what you are saying… I know many have tried to imitate you, your creations, your lifestyle… but that is just what they are… an imitation… not the real thing… I love that you speak your mind and know exactly who you are… not competing with anyone… just following your own path… love you sweet lady!… and I look forward to following along with you on your path in 2015… xoxo… Julie Marie

  7. What a great post, Janet! You truly have stayed true to your heart throughout the years….and I still see the young, determined, creative, inspiring boho-chic you still are. 😉 I know what you're saying about others trying to stomp on our dreams, whether it be out of jealousy or just plain meanness; and the importance of pushing ahead, not looking behind, and keeping the faith. Thank you for being who you are, for inspiring me, and for being kind and encouraging. Bless you – and I look forward to another year of our friendship! ♥

  11. Great post and I particularly found this resonant: "There are those who are "path stompers" and try to squash your dreams if they feel threatened by your success. As if it may take some grains away from their own harvest!" Great way to put it. Always steer clear of the path stompers!! Please know your creative voice has reached many of us and we delight in what you offer. Looking forward to seeing more in 2015!!
