Metallics In Fall Table Settings – Copper And Gold
Metallics in fall table settings with copper and gold and styling tips for your best fall entertaining!
A pretty table set with vintage china that has special meaning, mixed and mingled with flowers and metallic touches. These are some of the things that speak to me for a Thanksgiving table setting to enjoy with family and friends. Today I’m sharing tips on a simple yet romantic way to do a similar look with your own dinner set and of course…flowers.
Metallics In Fall Table Settings – Tips
My table is rustic and although I love the look for every day, when setting for a holiday I’ll often use a tablecloth to easily change the look. This one isn’t really a tablecloth though and in my HOW TO CREATE A VEGETABLE CENTERPIECE post I talk about that some more.
I love to create an elegant table setting that is floral based, and for Thanksgiving I brought out my vintage HAMMERED COPPER BOWL and created a low slung floral arrangement with white roses and some additional flowers and greenery. The COPPER bowl is not a tall one, so I had to clip quite a bit from the stems to arrange them into the bowl. I sort of make-do half the time and am definitely N.O.T. a trained florist and simply criss-crossed some painter’s tape across the top edge to serve as a flower frog and hold the flowers up. Fill with water and it’s ready for arranging.
A TABLE GARLAND is often used in weddings and some of my best floral inspiration comes from studying wedding photos and how they are styled and shot. Since one of my daughters recently became engaged, maybe I’ll actually get to put that into practice some day :-))
I’ve laid out some seeded eucalyptus across the table and around my table focal point arrangement and they mixed in the rest!
Gold glittered candles and pretty glass votives as well as the most LUXURIOUS Italian Lambskin Pumpkins courtesy of PLUSH PUMPKIN. You’ll see a few acorns with the same luxe metallic shades of PLATINUM and GOLD mixed in to the setting too.
The dishes were passed down to us from my husband’s mom and we are so happy to have this set of Royal Copenhagen from his childhood days in Switzerland to set out for fall dining. The brown and taupe roses and gold rim are perfect for fall along with the gold flatware and the wine glasses that are both new and old.
This beadboard cabinet…it’s sort of a farmhouse style and since my own aesthetic is such a mix it somehow seems to work and is filled with some favorite pieces for FALL and THANKSGIVING.
Behind the table is a buffet and since I love pumpkins (just NOT the orange kind:-) I’ll be leaving some there informally displayed as a background setting until our Christmas trees go up.
Moscow Mule hammered copper mugs are for drinking and perfect for this time of year in mixing metallics for a warm and cozy look.
