I was actually surprised at how many of you enjoy the DIY posts and that THOSE were the top read! I’ll be sharing more of those with a few things in the works and some remodeling projects in the planning. The HOW TO MAKE OIL LANTERN CANDLES post is so versatile and fun to create for entertaining in any season. You probably have most of the supplies on hand and the wicks to purchase are under $2 and linked above. Personally I love oil candles because you can use them outdoors and they tend to stay lit despite the wind that often brews up unexpectedly.
This year I decluttered my studio and remodeled it into my home office and shared several popular posts along the way. A plain IKEA BILLY BOOKCASE now fits in well with my French style home office and was a super easy project that you can apply to any bookcase in your home. All of the instructions for that are in the post above.
If you’ve been following me for awhile then you know that I’m not only a photographer and stylist, but a former art teacher and long time crafter. As a fiddler with lighting parts I have drawers full and shared the post above on HOW TO MAKE A DESSERT STAND and you can find the parts at just about any thrift or junk shop to create your own. So…fiddle around and see what YOU can come up with!
Although I’d love to be able to tell you that I’m an expert sewer, that would be far from the truth and not authentic! I found a way to use just ONE PIECE OF FABRIC to MAKE A PILLOW, and it’s fast and easy no matter the level of your sewing skills.
Talking about my office…I’m so happy to work in here and it’s been all about doing the room on a budget. It sure would have been much easier to go out and buy everything new, but I’m more about decorating and curating slowly and mixing vintage with new for a high end look. I revealed my FRENCH MODERN HOME OFFICE in the post above and have a few sources and tips within that post.
This FRENCH SOFA was a total SCORE and I stripped it down to bare bones and show you how to PAINT and UPHOLSTER in the post above. I’m not an expert and learned lots along the way and am happy to share what I learned just in case you find something that you might fear tackling.
Fall Home Tour – Beach House Master Bedroom
In our beach home we are doing some decorating and remodeling and I’m so excited for what we plan in the year ahead! My husband was totally on board with updating the master bedroom and in the HOME TOUR above you’ll see before and after. I’m loving the less fru fru more updated look and as always combine the new with the old.
At home in Miami I talked about HOW TO DECORATE FOR WINTER once Christmas comes down and it’s really so easy to do with just a few key elements such as linens. I love white in decor (if you haven’t guessed that by now:-) and it’s easy to change out the bed linens to refresh and renew for a new year.
