Fruit Table Arrangements {Thrifty Table Decorating}

Citrus fruit table arrangements are something that I’ve done a couple of times and they just make sense. Fruit is colorful, healthy and an oh so thrifty addition to any table setting that will stretch the decorating dollar. A plus is that you can eat the leftovers, so that’s a definite win-win for you. I often share thrifty decorating tips with you (that look expensive), so read on and take some inspiration for your table settings!

The day before I styled this I was grocery shopping and the fruit just looked so colorful! I decided to buy bags of them to display on the kitchen counter for color on a gloomy week. Serious orange love runs deep here…not the color necessarily but the fruit! In THIS POST you can see that I even collect bowls with orange tree motifs. I have the entire set of these and will be using them in an upcoming baking post with a new recipe for you. I am sharing this post with the Styled + Set series hosted by my talented friend Lory of Designthusiasm , and if you’re coming over from Ann at On Sutton Place welcome!

How To Make Fruit Table Arrangements

As I cut up the citrus for our morning breakfast I got a wild hair to design this tablescape! Why not a citrus fruit tablescape which makes perfect sense to me in the middle of a Florida winter. The dry eucalyptus smelled so good and started the tablescape. It seemed like a natural to add some dried roses with their faded pink shade popping through. I added a few sections of cut oranges, lemons and grapefruit to brighten things up. So easy and simple to recreate on your table!

A tablescape with produce should look good for a couple of days, but with citrus it will dry out and might not be great to eat. You are limited only by your imagination and can make a vegetable centerpiece as I did in THIS POST. I made the cute chair seat covers years ago and pulled them out because they look like SPRING.

The rustic plank table is hearty that it doesn’t need to be babied, but a runner would be an option.

Dishes and Flatware For Citrus Fruit Table Arrangements

White dishes are timeless and these are my FAVORITE PLATES that aren’t low cost, but a worthwhile investment. I love to layer plates and used the huge candlewick chargers underneath. Gold flatware is perfect for a fruit table arrangement with citrus and you can often find these inexpensively. THIS SET is absolutely stunning! I’m always inspired by beautiful tables and found some beautiful brunch settings here.

I love votive candles for several reasons and have many different colored sets. One reason that I love them is that you can use votives when there is a breeze. They are small and don’t interfere with your view across the table and give such a great glow. THESE and THESE are blush pink, so all the better!

I made the chair set covers below to cover an old set of unattractive chairs.
