Bringing that elegant beachy coastal look to your home can seem like a daunting task (and an expensive one!), but Nancy has some fantastic tips on how to have a DIY coastal home style on a budget.

We’ve seen her fantastic journey giving her home a total makeover over the years and her hard work has paid off!

Nancy has allowed me to share her makeover journey in this little home tour so you can be just as inspired as me to give your home a fresh new start.

Now, let’s start this tour, shall we?

The Morning Room – DIY Coastal Living Room Alternative

Previously used as the dining room, Nancy turned this space into a delightful morning room.

After

Before

Neutral tones were used as the foundation in this room, with just the right amount of soft blues and hints of beige accents throughout the space.

Along with the stunning decor details and its own reading nook, this room manages to balance elegance and warmth, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon.

Completely Remodeled Kitchen – Beach Style Kitchen Makeover Ideas Before & After

This kitchen has seen its fair share of transformations during the last 15 plus years, but the whole journey was worth it.

Before

Nancy ditched the dark reddish tones for an airy coastal vibe to make the kitchen feel less dark. By removing the red and dark brown hues, the coastal home style becomes much easier to achieve.

After

She DIYed the backsplash transformation, removing the reddish and dark one for a soft and light blue tile.

An elegant Quartz countertop also replaced the old one, tying this beach style vibe together seamlessly.

Elegant Coastal Dining Room – A Coastal Home Makeover Decor Dream

If you’re looking for beach house decorating ideas on a budget, this dining room makeover has many coastal decor ideas you can do yourself. In fact, this living room is a perfect example of how the same room can work for many different purposes and still be practical and stylish.

What makes this space so pleasing to the eye is that every little detail has been curated to fit the home’s airy and beachy style.

The stunning blue dresser works as a contrasting pop of color against the off-white walls, making it the first thing you’re drawn to when entering this room.

You’re instantly drawn to the stunning dark blue dresser, another extraordinary DIY makeover by Nancy. (She has a tutorial on how she accomplished this result and all the tips she gives are amazing!)

A simple mudroom takes place in one corner of the dining room. A perfect hack for small spaces!

Although the built-in bookcase looks professionally made, Nancy actually has a super easy-to-follow tutorial on her site!

After

She and her husband created this bookcase from scratch and the result is absolutely phenomenal.

Before

For the actual dining section of this space, the neutral and earthy colors keep the space balanced and practical. The organic materials and dark neutral wood make everything feel harmonious.

All the decorating pieces stand out beautifully, and the colors reinforce that fresh coastal vibe.

Home Office Makeover Before And After On A Budget – Feminine and Modern

The home office is maybe one of my favorite rooms! The change is jaw-dropping. Just take a look for yourself!

This office has two desks and uses a small space very intelligently.

Like any other DIY lover, I know how complex storage solutions can be to find, but this office had a simple way to keep all those supplies organized and within easy reach.

Nancy another of her makeover projects for the storage section; a lovely french-styled armoire in a soft blue shade.

Nancy added some finishing bright and happy touches that made this room feel even vibrant. Lots of pops of color are scattered throughout the space using decor like framed quotes and indoor plants.

A Coastal Style Bathroom – DIY Budget-Friendly Makeover

Keeping up with the beachy theme, the bathroom decor was also leveled up to match the rest of the home.

After

A faux shiplap in white was installed on all the walls, and Nancy also redid the floor using large hexagon tiles. It’s incredible how these changes completely transformed this bathroom… just look at the “before”!

Before

The white subway worked as the perfect canvas for a lovely design using rectangular greenish blue-tinted tile grout in the shower corner.

The baby hexagon tiles added an extra touch of creativity but giving the space some breathing room.

Add a few touches of brushed gold and muted blue and this bathroom is both functional and gorgeous!

The Foyer – Beach House Foyer Ideas

Let’s not forget about the foyer. This space has also seen a lot of amazing changes, and it’s now picture-perfect.

After

Before

Nancy replaced the dated floors with stunning laminate flooring with a rustic finish. She has an amazing in-depth tutorial on how to give your wooden stairs a new fresh look using gel stain.

The neutral dark wood and metallic accents pair beautifully with the rest of the space. It’s a wonderful contrast to the white walls and crown molding, making the entire room appear even brighter.
