When the holidays are over and you want to decorate your front door, this may be something you’d like to try. It’s an easy project and requires only 3 “ingredients” in terms of supplies. Plus you can beef it up with faux flowers for the spring…I’m sure that you’ve seen these before. This is probably the fastest way to create a gold hoop wreath though that you’ll find. Let’s get started!

Instructions For Making The Easy Front Door Wreath

So simple and this is a beginner level project! First you’ll want to gather your supplies. Lay the eucalyptus garland out along the shape of the gold hoop wreath. Decide how much of the hoop you’ll want to cover. I like to have some of the gold show since it’s so pretty! Then using your wire cutters clip off the amount that you’ll need. We have double front doors so I created two wreaths. *TIP* If you have double front doors, you will probably want to make them right facing and left facing as the photo shows.

PS…we hope to have these OLD leaky front doors replaced this year!

Next take your wire and clip off about 12″ from the roll. Start wrapping over sections of the stem part of the eucalyptus garland piece. Make sure not to twist the garland or it won’t lay flat when hung. Keep an eye on your work as you go along…rinse and repeat!

If you feel that there is too much wire showing, then twist a couple of the leaves to cover. At this point you can use a little hot glue to help you. Planning on using the wire hoop for something else in the future? Then go easy on the hot glue!

That’s it…so easy and I think these wreaths look elegant and simple whether on a door or perhaps over a mantel.

You can make the wreath fancier of course by simply adding a bow!

Here is how they look on our doors, pulling back the shot a bit. And…this area will be getting a makeover soon, which is long overdue.

  1. I was trying to leave a comment on the faux flower idea post but I looked everywhere and I could not find the leave a reply. I found it on the wreath post. Weird. Anyway. The flowers are just beautiful and I am amazed how you did your daughter’s wedding in two weeks. The wreath is also pretty like how you used my favorite leaves.

    1. Thank you Maria! I actually had my developer disable comments on posts over 2 weeks old due to massive spam. I appreciate you stopping by so much! xo
