French Flair Home Tour!

Meet the lovely Pam & Kelly of Ivory Lane Home that I recently became friends with over on Instagram. You’ll find more in their joint account here – Ivory Lane Home. You can also find them on their BLOG, but Instagram is where they hang out and post more often.

Pam and Kelly began their journey and love of vintage finds over 18 years ago when they became neighbors and instant friends. Together they discovered that they had almost identical tastes and creative eyes for decor. You won’t find lots of color in their respective homes, but you WILL find loads of elegance, texture and class.

Sadly they are no longer neighbors but definitely remain kindred decorating spirits. They have the uncanny ability to read each other’s minds. Pam and Kelly seem to instinctively forecast what the other will think in terms of a design, vignette, or antique find.

The duo’s decorating expertise has evolved over the years, but has remained with a consistent in terms of preferences. Both have a love for the “un-colors”: white, ivory, gold, and silver. The viewpoint remains consistent as time goes by. “WE HAVE ALWAYS REMAINED TRUE TO OUR PASSION FOR BEAUTIFULLY AGED OBJECTS, AND WHITE AND IVORY INTERIORS.”

They both enjoy changing the look of rooms seasonally with anything that can make a small impact.

Also, because their homes are neutral, they believe in adding texture, tone-on-tone pattern, in contrast to wood accents with french flair. White plumes, pillows with texture and pale artwork without a doubt are perfect!

” We have always kept our walls neutral and our current go-to ivory is cloud white by Benjamin Moore.”

“One thing we would stress is how low maintenance white can actually be. Slipcovers are something we swear by and have used since we began our decor journey.” Apart from that mantra is the fact that white allows you to see where the dirt is and then clean it as well.

As you might expect in an elegant French flair home tour there is sparkle! Gold gilded objets d’art elevate the homes to exquisite and enviable status, yet aren’t overwhelming.

Mirrors rather than artwork to bring light inside with reflection. Those mirrors create the perfect spot to add holiday adornments, always in the neutrals that the ladies love!

Bleached wood…along with old books and lots of patina. You can find inspiration here to do similar looks in your own home. Head on over and be sure to follow the talented  ladies of Ivory Lane Home on Instagram and on the Ivory Lane Home blog!
