Farmhouse Chic On A Budget – Home Tour
Farmhouse CHIC on a budget, this HOME TOUR is overflowing with ideas for styling that you’ll LOVE! See how homeowner Tracey has filled her Canadian farmhouse with vintage and thrifted treasures.
Meet my friend Tracey, who is another Instagram buddy that has a flair for vintage charm. Before we get started on the tour, be forewarned that there are a TON OF PHOTOS and it’s well worth looking at them all! You’ll find Tracey over on Instagram at Tracey Hiebert. She also has a blog at The Hydrangea Farmhouse.
Tracey is a self proclaimed wife/mom/grandma and a “crazy cat lady” who can’t stop rearranging her farmhouse chic home done on a budget with vintage treasures!
Let’s see what she has to say as we focus on this tour…
Farmhouse Chic On A Budget
“We have lived on our farm in Southern Ontario Canada for 28 years. I describe myself as a Crazy Cat Lady, and as you can see by most of my pics, there is usually a kitty!”
“As the kids grew, so did our need to have a little more space in our farmhouse. We renovated our home to accommodate.”
“On my wish list was a wrap around porch with a porch swing!”
“I have always loved to decorate my spaces, starting with my dollhouse as a little girl, to our starter home, and now the farmhouse. The only difference now is I take pictures and share on Instagram!” Farmhouse chic home done on a budget to perfection!
“Last year I created a blog named Hydrangea Farmhouse. It’s a place I share my décor and DIY’s. We had planted hydrangeas all around the porch, and all over in the garden. I use them a lot in my décor, and it seemed like a perfect name for my blog!”
“My love for changing up my décor came from my grandma. She always had different curtains, tablecloths, tea towels, etc to reflect what season we were in. And always on a budget!”
“Each season I change up our décor using vintage and thrifted treasures. I love to go to thrift stores and antique malls…and most of the furniture and décor in our home is thrifted. I am not afraid to paint anything!!”
“My motto, “the world isn’t going to stop turning if you paint over nice wood” I will paint just about anything!”
“My latest DIY was painting the fabric on the thrifted French chair I found! I love how it turned out! One of my most favourite DIY’s is my coffee filter roses.”
“I am very fortunate that my hubby has always supported my love for change (in this farmhouse chic home on a budget). There have been many times he has come home, and the furniture has been rearranged.”
“I moved the furniture plus the Christmas tree to the middle of the room one year, so I could stencil all around the walls.”
“He is always up for helping me with projects…he built our faux fireplace after I showed him a pic in a magazine of one I loved.”
“He built my dream Potting Shed!”
“Now that we are empty nesters, we have been really enjoying creating a garden space. We have a fish pond with a gazebo, many flower beds, and we finished a stream last year that flows through the garden. We are blessed to have our kids live nearby, and we have the grandchildren over to play a lot!”
It’s interesting to go through and see how the spaces have changed with different chairs, rearranging furniture, or painting different pieces! Most was all thrifted, or free! Here are some more photos of Tracey’s farmhouse chic home decorated on a budget that we have to share, in no particular order. But first…PIN THIS POST BELOW!

Hi There. Your home is warm, beautiful and filled with love. I too will paint anything and everything. The joke around here is ,”Beware. If there’s a can of paint close by you may enter Sue’s cottage one way and leave looking completely different.” 🙂
What a wonderful gift….to be creative! Sweet Blessings.
Wow — Absolutely beautiful ….I loved it all

Hi Janet,
I just wanted to thank you and Tracey for taking the time to send all of your wonderful pictures of your lovely homes. They are so beautiful. I have learned a lot by seeing you ladies accomplish so much! Tracy, I have the same depression glass cookie jar as you. It belonged to my aunt who passed away many years ago at age 100.. Mine is also pink.

Hi Janet,
What a beautiful surprise! This is a true home; the kind that makes you want to visit and never leave. (LOL). i am a little curious about something. I lived in Canada for a little while when I attended school there; I know how cold it can be. What does she do in the Winter with that beautiful wrap around porch? Thank you for sharing such a beautiful find.
Beautiful and well thought out, love it. J
One of the best tours EVER! Thank you for that pleasure!
Wow! Great to find a Canadian blog – I live in Nova Scotia.
I absolutely love your house – it’s so airy and pretty – and the kitties are great too! Thanks for sharing your wonderful creativity (painting an upholstered chair is genius!!).
what a beautiful home!
I could move right in and it would feel like home. I love it, its just my style!
This home is so gorgeous! I had to switch from my phone to my computer so I could see the pictures on a larger screen! I’ve noticed that practically every picture has a subtle sweet touch of pink! Love it! So much beauty and inspiration! Hugs!
I agree…so much inspiration with this one Leena! xo
Janet you are a true trooper to share with us another beautiful home with such gorgeous decor. Love love and it’s warm and feels like home. Hats off to both of you for sharing.
Thank you Sandy!! Enjoy your week!
One of my favorite tours! Absolutely beautiful! What I especially liked is that the home was in Canada. I live across Lake Ontario in Rochester NY and cannot winter any of my porch decor or any other outside decorations. Furniture stays out from April until mid-October and then we deal with a cold, snowy winter! Most of the blogs seem to be from a wonderful warm, sunny area and unfortunately that is not reality for a lot of readers. Thank you so much!
Wow, beautiful home. Loved the tour and it is in Canada.
I could not get enough of your blog..
What a beautiful home. Where do you find your flower pillows?
And can I tell you the picture of your home with the snow falling just says welcome to me. This is why I never leave the north east.
Love everything about you beautiful home.
New to your blog ♥️

What an inspiring home! I love all the kitties especially the one on the mantle playing with the stocking!
Oh what a delightful home. I loved peeking at all the different seasons too. And that potting shed is adorable. I want one (LOL).
Beautiful!
What a great home tour! I love the careful layering of fabrics and quilts and the expert repetition of pink. I also love the vintage botanicals. Must be a joy to live there.
