French Country Style House Tour- Happy Haute Home

This is one of those homes that you swoon over! As defined by Merriam-Webster, haute is fashionably elegant or high-class. We are delighted to present the home of my sweet friend Denise today, of Happy Haute Home. Take it away Denise!

Happy Haute Home – French Country Style Tour

Our family has lived in our current home for five years. My husband, daughter, son and I live in Northern Virginia.

Beautiful sweeping grounds that take your breath away!

Bucolic views and country roads in Northern Virginia that surround Denise’s home.

I was born and raised in Washington DC and have lived in the DC area my entire life. We call Northern Virginia home for many reasons. The close proximity to downtown DC, our families nearby, the access to a great school system and plentiful jobs has kept us grounded in the Metropolitan area. Although the cost of living is very high in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia), we can’t imagine living anywhere else.

My husband and I have lived in several homes during our 19 years of marriage. I started off with a 630 square foot condo when I first started dating my husband. We have progressively moved into larger homes throughout our lives. Although our home now is bigger than anyone needs (12,000 sq ft) we have appreciated the space! This home has many living areas and we realized we are truly blessed. Especially during quarantine!

Outdoor Living

Our most recent project was the completion of an outdoor living space in our backyard. We built a pool and pool house and just finished the project this year! We  enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends and are thrilled with the new space!

Social Media Sharing

I started a blog HappyHauteHome, four years ago to share my love of décor, renovation, and everything home. Over the years, I have completed so many projects in our houses. One of the biggest improvements we made to our current home was to paint the exterior brick white. That change made a dramatic impact to the look of our home. To this day, we still get frequent comments from friends, neighbors and others over the huge difference it made to our home. We love it so much and couldn’t be happier with the decision to paint our brick.

PAINTED BRICK EXTERIOR – BEFORE AND AFTER

On my Instagram page, HappyHauteHome, I share daily updates on happenings at our home and I always keep it real, sharing the good and plenty of the bad. Life is tough and sharing the difficult times I hope will help others to see that we all have our struggles and life is not always pretty and perfect.

Decorating Happy Haute Home Through The Seasons

Anyone who knows me, knows I love Restoration Hardware. Our home consists mainly of furniture from RH with some Arhaus too. All our lighting is from Restoration Hardware as well as all our paint colors!

Hope you enjoy the tour of the main and lower areas of our home including home theater, wine cellar, gym, and bar. We have yet to begin on renovating the upper bedrooms of our home, so I apologize for not including those pics.

I love sharing my home, my life, my successes and failures with my blog readers, my Instagram, Pinterest and Youtube family.

I invite you to follow along on my journey at Happy Haute Home and hope to bring a smile to your face as often as I can.

Thank you so much to Janet of Shabbyfufu for featuring me on her beautiful blog. I am so honored and humbled to be part of the Home Series Janet has created. 5. Oh my..that’s a lot of house! The white paint to the exterior truly made it look stunning. DC is a very busy place but we enjoyed a trip there so much. Lots of things to do and so pretty.
The house is beautiful for sure but the landscape and wonderful scenery makes that house even better!
