Lately we haven’t done much entertaining, and that is mostly because we are so busy during the week that we use the weekend to relax or we head up to our beach home. When we do entertain friends or family it’s almost always out by the pool and today I’ll be sharing some tips on how I style a table.
My inspiration for a table setting often starts with one object that I’d like to use.
In this case it was an aqua bottle that my daughter found at HomeGoods and gifted me with.
I then brought out a few reproduction Mason jars (Ball jars) in a similar tone. Now I had a definite blue theme going on.
The vintage candelabra did not start out this color and was a garish gold. It had a crack that I repaired and then decided to spray paint it aqua to use outdoors.
Aqua bowls found at one of my favorite shops last year. The bowls were layered on top of antique French transferware plates with my every day white dishes underneath.
Bougainvillea in pink…plucked from an abandoned lot.
It somehow just all goes well by using the same two accent pastels.
Floral napkins tucked into a vintage aqua pitcher and my favorite wine glasses in a blush pink…found at an estate sale years back.
Vintage wicker mixed with antique French seating and they all retain the original chippy white paint, which is the base color of the setting.
Extra dishes and my apron sit on this old carpenter’s ladder.
White wicker…quintessentially summer!
I hope that this gives you some ideas to use for your summer outdoor entertaining! Have a great week ahead.
So fresh and airy and summery, Janet. Love the aqua and pink shades together. My eyes were drawn to that awesome wicker chair with the darling pink striped cushion though… ♥

Oh so nice. I love aqua. Ball jars are my favorite way to display flowers. I use them alot at showers and parties. Can I have the chair? Love the pretty linen on the ladder blowing in the breeze. So well put together. I've got to find me a candelabra. I would spray paint mine too!
Dear Janet
these are beautiful pictures … it looks so fresh and cheerful.
The idea with the candle holder is awesome.
Have a wonderful week.
