There’s a new kid in town, or at least new to those of us that are lucky enough to live in the sunshine state of Florida. I’m so excited to be partnering up with ORCHARD SUPPLY HARDWARE to help them introduce the expansion from the other sunshine state of California over here to the east coast! I’m someone who is really familiar with hardware stores, as the wife of

a general contractor and as a homeowner and a blogger that gets into some DIY and gardening projects. Did I ever tell you that one of my first jobs as a young teenager was in a hardware store? I was selling paint and other hardware related items and my dad always had a tool bench and worked around our home…so I felt pretty comfy figuring my way around plumbing and electrical. Kind of second nature now, but ORCHARD SUPPLY HARDWARE is much more than a hardware store as was evidenced by my visit this week to a soft opening at a new store here in Deerfield Beach, Florida.

I heard it through the grapevine from a few friends in California that this store would be friendly and welcoming and when I arrived I must say that I was impressed with the knowledgable staff. You know how sometimes you go into the huge box stores and are trying to find one particular item and someone to help you find it? Here the staff is well trained and delightfully nice 😉

THE WORK BENCH

They make tasks easy and the workbench in the hardware department will cut glass, make keys, sharpen knives and cut metal and electrical wiring. Great services to offer with so many in Florida that live in condos and rental apartments! Plus…I don’t know about you, but there are some tasks that I just won’t do (like glass cutting) on my own.

Orchard focuses on home enjoyment and not just home improvement, making the journey to get there easier and more fun. Are you catching what’s up in the paint department space?! The staff helps in matching colors and seasonal trends with BENJAMIN MOORE paints (my own favorite:-).

Well laid out signage and an easy flow, and if you watched my video above I was able to get around the entire store in just a few minutes. Yes, it’s Christmas time so they have a nice variety of decorations and trees and I could have easily filled up a shopping cart with lots of great pieces for my home.

The POTTING BENCH

Lots of plants that are geared towards Florida and they provide the service of repotting for you. Another video that shows the vast selection in the nursery and explains what they will do for you.

You know that I love florals and I spotted these an entire display of floral garden gear that I’ll be picking up next time I’m in one of the stores.

Seasonal merchandise, patio, housewares, paint, hardware, plumbing and more. I’m really glad that ORCHARD SUPPLY HARDWARE is moving into the FLORIDA market to fill this need and I’m looking forward to the next few months of working with them to come!
