Candles, Flowers, Fashion & More! Morning Musings 9

With a big birthday towards the end of February I apologize for being behind on these fun posts! Our daughter came in from California for a few days and we were busy being busy! These are the times that I treasure the most, especially now that the girls are grown and attending to their own full lives. Way back when I first started blogging 17 years ago I was able to include them here, but they are private now and I respect that. But I can share my ridiculously silly little grand dog Nora who is a Brussels Griffon that looks like a gremlin. She fits right in around here!

LET’S GET PERSONAL

Are you waiting in anticipation for the spring season? It’s full on SPRING here in South Florida and I can’t recall when my hay fever was so bad!! 🤧 I’ve suffered from this my entire life and try a variety of tricks to keep the flare up to a minimum, but this year nothing seems to be working. I love SPRING but apparently it doesn’t love me. I did want to share some of the birthday flowers that I received with you, from my friends at Petal Driven.

WHAT I’M LOVING IN DECOR

I have been doing a bit of “fill in” shopping, which is how I tend to update my home seasonally. This French Tulip candle had me at the packaging and the scent is as beautiful as the decorative box! It has a 60 hour burn time and is more than well worth the purchase.

You know how those boutique tissue boxes that need a woman’s touch? Why don’t they make them more attractive is beyond my comprehension! I picked up a few of these Rattan Tissue Box Covers and they aren’t statement pieces, but help the necessary Kleenex have a more fashionable appeal.

There is lots to see if you haven’t checked my curated AMAZON INFLUENCER SHOP lately. Everything from peel and stick wallpaper to faux florals, decorating books, furniture, home decor accessories and more…that I either have or LOVE! Check it out.

WHAT I’M WEARING

Women over 50 and beyond seem to embrace a scarf and I certainly do. Not only do then camouflage the neck, but can be fashioned into a belt, head covering and even a wrap to keep our shoulders warm. I recently picked up this floral and animal print scarf at Chicos and you can shop the look below:

Denim Tunic
Brigitte Ankle Pants
Faux Tortoise Square Readers
Chip & Stone Stretch Bracelet
Abalone Stretch Bracelet

Those who know me…this is how I dress when I’m out and about!

BEAUTY PRODUCTS I’M USING

What about the dogs?! I have used this dog shampoo for several years on our dogs and it’s the best! The same brand makes this really good tooth gel for dogs as well as this whitening shampoo that I use for Toby…our 16 year old Maltese!

WHAT I’M COOKING & EATING

We have been eating out with the family here, but today I started doing some more of my vegan cooking. I really need to get back on track and one of the girls got me this cookbook for my birthday that I’m just starting to explore! You can tap below to learn more.

WHAT I’M WATCHING

I just finished binging Inventing Anna and highly recommend! It’s based on a true story of a reporter digging into how Anna Delvey convinced New York’s elite she was a German heiress. If you’re a super fan of Outlander and have been experiencing “Droughtlander” as I have…the new season starts in just a few days on Starz. Right now you can grab 6 months of Starz for just $20.

INSTAGRAM LOVE

You know what? I have to be real here as always in that the algorithm of Instagram has changed so much in just the last couple of weeks. I can hardly find any of my favorites unless I search for them and all that I see are ads and reels. I have nothing to share 😢 and wondered if anyone else has noticed this lately?

WHAT YOU MAY HAVE MISSED

I shared a few of these favorites before…but in case you did miss it you can click on any image below to learn more and shop!

Until next time…

  1. My daughter came to visit last week and we binge—watched Inventing Anna. It just pulls you in. You want to know how people can be so gullible. So intriguing.
    Happy Spring!

    1. It was riveting for sure Lorrie! I have seen some interviews with the real Anna on YouTube and she seemed so low key!

  2. Inventing Anne is next up on my watch list%! Your granddog is adorable. Instagram continues to frustrate. I see more and more posts from people I don’t follow and too many loud, silly videos. As a result I spend less time there. Your bday flowers are fabulous! Happy week! xo

    1. Oh you will be sitting at your computer until you finish Juliet…it’s that good! I’m so frustrated with Instagram as well and I guess the powers that be don’t care if they ruin the platform while they try to become TikTok 2.0 (not going there personally!). xo

  3. I always loved to pop into Instagram to see the decor, crafts and designs from those I follow but there are so many actor/actress photos you of course have to like?! The ads for clothes and makeup too but not much from those I chose to follow. I agree, it’s changed and I’m not a huge techy person..just wanna get decor inspiration.
The sweet pooch! Aww..I love my dogs! Inventing Anna/Anne..I’ll have to check into. I refuse to pay for more tv so maybe it’s offered or will be on Amazon Prime tv later if it’s a Netflix show.

Pieces of her starts on Netflix this weekend. I read the book and it’s intriguing and interesting!! Put that one on your list. I’m going to dry the dog teeth gel, my dogs are 11 and I know they could use some “brightening” up.
