Before we head inside, don’t let this large facade fool you. It’s made for a lovely hostess and her family that love to gather here!
This is home to my friend Andrea, who I’ve had the pleasure of knowing on Instagram for sometime now. Andrea is on Instagram as HOSTESS TODAY and hosting is her way of showing love. She lives here with her husband, and is mother to three kids and has 9 (yes…9!) pets.

“I was born in Brazil. In 2001 my husband and I moved to Florida with our 2 small sons. In 2004 the Lord blessed us with our sweet daughter.”

“We moved to Greenville, SC in 2007 because of my husband’s work and now it’s home for us. It’s a lovely city, very family oriented and welcoming.”

“In 2016, we built our dream home here in Greenville. It has everything we ever dreamed of in a home. We love to entertain and our house was designed around that.”

“We try to make our home the best place on earth, where everyone feels welcome and loved. Life is not always easy, but we can always choose joy even when hard things happen to us. Having a loving and safe environment is really important.”

“For some years it was  just my me and my husband and our daughter Laura. With the situation this year we now have our 2 sons and daughter in law living with us as well. Our middle son, Andre, is taking a sabbatical year from college so he is now here. Our oldest son, Luis, and his wife Melissa are both working from home (they live in NYC). We invited them to live with us until things go back to normal. It’s been amazing having all the kids with us, we never dreamed it could ever happen, and we are enjoying it to the fullest!”

“When we were having our house built, we decided to not hire an interior designer so our house could look just the way we wanted it to.”

“We chose every single detail, from the hinges to the facade. It was such a fun and overwhelming project!”

“We spent countless hours researching but in the end, it paid off. We love everything about our home, and we learned so much about construction and interior design!”

“Our house has an open floor plan with lots of circulation spaces. The kitchen is very functional since I cook everything from scratch. I also have 2 dishwashers and it was one of the best decisions we made when we were building our home!”

The wine tasting room in Andrea’s open house tour always catches my eye!…

“My favorite place in our house is the back porch. We all love to spend time there especially in the fall and spring.”

“I also love our home theater, that’s where we relax and watch movies as a family.”

“You will also see a lot of fireplaces throughout the house. We have 5. I think that’s what happens when you were born in a warm place!”

“When we were building our home, I told our architect that I wanted a big butler’s pantry where I could store all of my entertaining supplies. I also told him to add a space for me to hang my tablecloths, so they don’t get very wrinkled.”

“This room helps me a lot when I’m setting tables. I can see everything that I own and it’s easy to access it all!”

“When I was growing up, everything was around the dinner table. My parents’ house was always full and they were always entertaining.”

“We celebrated every birthday, anniversary, baptism, you name it! So many events, so many delicious foods, a lot of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. It was always very special and family oriented. We had lots of fun and I’m blessed to say that I had an amazing childhood. When I grew older, it couldn’t get any different, so I started doing what I always saw my parents doing: entertaining!

“Hosting is very natural for me (and I’m so glad my husband is the same way).”

“I love to have friends and family over, set beautiful tables, and cook something delicious for them. I think that there is nothing more special than sitting around a beautiful table, with good company, eating good food and drinking good wine. Our home should always be the best place to do it, no matter the size.”

“I’m passionate about setting tables. Is there anything more special than sitting at a beautiful table, eating great food, and drinking a good wine with family and friends?”

“Therefore, I started my Instagram journey in November 2017, right after my oldest son’s wedding. The wedding was at our house, my son and my beautiful daughter-in-law trusted me with most of the decorations.”

“My husband even built a pergola in our backyard for them to get married underneath it. I did most of the flower arrangements (I’m so glad some sweet friends came to help me) and a lot of the decor. My mom and I also made 1200 truffles!”

“It was so fun putting it all together and I wanted to show my friends and relatives in Brazil, who couldn’t attend the wedding, how beautiful it turned out. And that’s how it all started.”

“My goal is to inspire people to entertain at home and show them that it can be fun and easy.”

“I want to share what I know with people and help them develop a love for hosting just like I have. Here you will find entertaining tips, Tablescapes, recipes, decor, DIY and so much more.”

“My husband and I try to do everything ourselves, from cooking to decorating and fixing what needs to be fixed. He even has a woodwork shop at our home, and he built several pieces of our furniture! It is his hobby.”

“I would love to invite you over to visit me on Instagram at Hostess Today!”

  6. A lovely home in a lovely location! I grew up in Charleston, SC, and graduated from Clemson, which is a stone’s throw from Greenville.

I love the way the city of Greenville has been revitalized in the last 10-15 years. I remember when all the refurbishment was being discussed years ago and the hopes that went along with the hard work. Some of our family that lives in the area has been a big part of helping that along and they are thrilled with the success it has been.

Another great tour, Janet! Thank you!

    Blessings,
    Teresa

    1. That is a fabulous butler’s pantry and that sounds like an amazing Halloween party Masako!

The entire home is absolutely beautiful!!! I love the kitchen chandelier over the island, where can I find it? Do you have the name of it or where it was purchased?

    Thank you,

    1. So glad that you enjoyed the home tour Auleen! Unfortunately I don’t know where that chandelier was sourced.
