Is anyone else daydreaming about a little seaside escape this time of year?
I know summer has me craving salty air, lazy afternoons on a wraparound porch and marvelous beach house interiors.
Since I can’t exactly pack up and head to the Maine coast this afternoon (although I wish I could!) the next best thing I can think of is going on a little coastal home tour.
Enters Prout’s Neck. Now y’all, this coastal home tour has all the coastal charm our seaside cravings could want!
Scrolling through beautiful photos has become second nature these days, but every now and then a home comes along that makes me slow down instead of rushing to the next image.
That was exactly my reaction when I came across this stunning Prout’s Neck beach house in Yarmouth, Maine, designed by Leandra Fremont-Smith Interiors.
There are so many thoughtful details throughout this home that it’s hard to pick a favorite.
From the sun-filled living spaces to the timeless kitchen and beautifully layered finishes, every room offers an idea worth tucking away for your own home.
This isn’t the kind of coastal home tour that relies on anchors, driftwood, or blue accessories to tell you where it is. The views alone take care of that!
Instead, it embraces everything I love about classic New England design.
Grand windows that bring the outdoors in, warm wood ceilings, crisp millwork, timeless furnishings, and natural textures that make every room feel special.
It’s polished, relaxed, and just oh, so refined.
If you’ve been searching for beach house interiors and decorating ideas that feel timeless, I think y’all are going to love this coastal home tour.

So grab your coffee (or iced tea today!), and let’s step inside this beautiful coastal home together.
The Sunroom
If this home had to choose one space to speak for the whole house, I think it would be the sunroom. It’s the room that made me stop scrolling. And that is saying a lot.

Wrapped almost entirely in black-framed windows, the space is flooded with the kind of dappled and leafy light that makes you want to sit and enjoy it for hours.
Now, the ceiling is what really gets me. The tongue-and-groove wood paneling running overhead feels like something straight out of an old New England boathouse, and against the crisp white walls and trim, it warms up the whole room without you even noticing.
Because y’all don’t need a single piece of blue and white stripe to make a space feel coastal. Sometimes honest, natural materials do all the work.
A pale blue skirted sectional anchors the room without competing with the view, and the woven rattan bistro chairs tucked into the little breakfast nook add just the right touch of texture.
It feels sun-warmed and easy, especially with all those coastal inspired decor like the framed artwork and lamps.
The Living Room
Walk through those French doors and you land in a living room that I can only describe as Nancy Meyers, if Nancy Meyers decorated a house on the Maine coast. You know the feeling I mean, that “It’s Complicated” kind of ease, where everything is beautiful but doesn’t feel super staged.
A soft sage green sofa is the star here, paired with embroidered pillows in blues and greens that nod to the coast without ever feeling like a theme.
Above it all hangs an incredible botanical bird print that gives the whole room a sense of scale and story, and I love this room seems to build this entire room’s palette around it.
The sisal rug underfoot keeps things grounded and casual, while a chunky wood coffee table with a beautiful herringbone inlay adds warmth and just enough formality to keep the room from feeling too beachy.
If you’re chasing this look at home, let one statement piece of art set your palette, then keep your upholstery soft and solid so the room breathes. Pull accent color from the same piece of art, or go for complementary ones if you want something slightly more dramatic. Place those pops of colors in the pattern of throw pillows, vases or upholstery piping.
The Kitchen and Butler’s Pantry
Now, here’s where this house gets a little bit cheeky.
The main kitchen keeps things soft and neutral with warm ivory cabinetry, brass hardware, and a gorgeous herringbone tile floor that runs into a sweet curved banquette.
Timeless and elegant, it’s exactly what you’d want in a home like this.
But tucked just off to the side is a butler’s pantry painted in the moodiest, most saturated teal you’ve ever seen.
Paired with dark countertops and warm brass fixtures, it feels like stepping into a completely different mood. It’s dramatic and a little glamorous in a home that otherwise plays it soft.
And my favorite little detail? That exact teal shows up again on the ceiling of the entryway and dining chairs, so this whole house is quietly tied together by one bold color choice used sparingly.
The Dining Room
The dining room takes a slightly more traditional turn in this coastal home tour, and I love the contrast it brings after all that airy and sun-filled living space.

Soft, patterned wallpaper covers the upper walls while beadboard runs along the bottom, a classic New England pairing that feels right at home here.
The oval wood table is beautifully set off by chairs with cane backs and teal upholstery, just enough color to tie back into the rest of the house without feeling kitschy.
A vintage-style chandelier with candle detailing hangs above, and a small coastal painting on the wall is a quiet nod to the running coastal theme.
The Entryway
And then there’s the entryway, which is a lovely little glipse of this coastal home tour approach to design.
Then, we have one of my favorite spaces in this coastal home tour, the foyer. I love the simplicity of it!
It hides all its design genius at first glance but when you take another look, they’re impossible to ignore.
The same saturated teal from the butler’s pantry reappears here on the ceiling, and it’s such a smart move! It gives you a little jolt the moment you walk through the door, then lets the rest of the space settle into soft and weathered tones.
A hand-painted script runs along the frieze just below the ceiling line, adding a personal, almost storybook touch.
The stone floor has this soft, sea-glass-like color to it, and a beautifully distressed chest sits below a brass and glass lantern chandelier, making it a lovely little corner.
It’s a small space doing a lot of work, setting the tone for the whole house before you’ve even made it past the front hall.
The Bathroom
The primary bathroom leans into a soft seafoam green that feels like the most natural extension of the coastal palette we’ve seen throughout the rest of the house.
White cabinetry and a marble countertop keep things bright, while a glass-enclosed shower tucks neatly under the slope of the roofline.
A slipper chair upholstered in the same seafoam sits in the corner, dressed with a graphic floral pillow in teal and chartreuse that pulls in a little more pattern without disrupting the calm of the room.
The Bedroom
I could look at this bedroom detail all day!
A charcoal grey upholstered headboard, tailored with a bit of architectural detailing along the top, is layered with pillows in soft blues, ivory, and a botanical embroidered print that ties right back into that coastal home tour color story without being literal about it.
A wood nightstand holds a simple lamp and a jug of fresh flowers, and I love that there’s a stack of books underneath instead of another basket or bin. I
If you’re chasing this look at home, consider introducing an upholstered headboard. It is one of the easiest upgrades to make a bedroom feel more custom, and it’s a great place to introduce texture without touching the walls.
The Family Room
Tucked into its own corner of the house is a cozier and more intimate family room, built around a curved window seat that wraps the whole space in soft blue and cream pillows.
The built-in bench is a smart move in a room like this. It maximizes seating without adding bulky furniture, and it makes the most of those tall windows and the view beyond them.
Brass sconces flank the windows for reading light, a low wood coffee table keeps the space feeling grounded, and a sisal rug ties it back to the more lived-in feel we’ve seen throughout the rest of the house.
It’s the kind of room built for lingering, whether that’s morning coffee or an evening with a book.
Get the Look
If this coastal home tour has you dreaming up a coastal corner of your own, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite pieces that capture that same easy coastal living and collected feel.
I especially love that pair of sailboat paintings, they’re such an easy way to bring in a coastal motif without leaning into anything overly literal or beachy. Pair them with a soft green ceramic lamp for a little unexpected color, and you’ve already got a vignette with personality.

I hope this coastal home tour left you as inspired as it left me. There’s something about a beach house interiors like these, that leans into good bones and honest materials that just makes me want to slow down and really look at my own space with fresh eyes.
