Rustic Lush Southern Mississippi Home Tour

If you were lucky enough to snag a visit to Cindi McCloud’s sprawling homestead, surely southern hospitality at its finest would greet you at the door! Come on in for a virtual visit of this designer and see how her creativity holds no bounds!

Cindi is one of those people that I’m so happy to have met. I had the chance to spend some time with her last year in Waco and felt her down to earth authenticity that shines through her quiet southern nature. Born and raised in Brookhaven, Mississippi, she raised her family there and calls it her forever home. “I love that it is a small hometown where family values are important.”

We have the common thread of the love of design and I’ve come to know her through Instagram. Visit Cindi on Instagram HERE, where she shares photos of her beautiful home and outdoor areas and has created a business through the platform as well. Ivory Home Design is Cindi’s shop where she sells the most beautiful home swings that are now so well known! “I had a vision for the swing that took years before it finally came together. I never planned on selling it or having a website but my very supportive IG follows kept asking and wanting it! They gave me the encouragement to go for it!” Find Cindi’s Antebellum Swings for sale HERE.

Cindi’s style can be described as cozy, refined and eclectic. She wanted the feeling of going back in time when designing her home. Her inspiration was remembering her grandmother’s home with high ceilings, big bay windows and shiplap siding. And of course porches, which are a must have in the south to catch the breezes and to sit with a glass of sweet tea!

“Our outdoor fireplace is one of my favorite and most popular designs.”

“I’m passionate about home, family, and interior design. I like a neutral background, raw wood, and fresh greenery!”

“We built our house 20 years ago. When looking at house plans, I wanted a modern farmhouse with big porches, an open floor plan, big rooms, high ceilings and lots of windows. My favorite things about our house are the porches and the outdoor spaces!”

Their barn is off property and a work in progress. Fabulous!

“Nature always inspires me! I’d rather have greenery and flowers from my yard or the woods around us.”

She has a great eye for adding personal and seasonal touches in her own style, not following what’s trending but what she loves.

The breakfast room above and dining room below. Both show a masterful mix and mingle of old and new.

“For me a room is not finished without a vintage find, candles and greenery. There’s just something refreshing about bringing the outside in.”

“Antiques add so much to a room, but I love new finds also. I’m all about mixing things up and making it your own.”

Cindy wanted you to know this…from the heart…“I’m honored and humbled that you have taken the time to visit my home tour! I hope I can inspire you in some small way! God Bless!”
