Simple Elegant Christmas Home Tour – Dining Room

Today I’m sharing my simple elegant Christmas home tour in the dining room and kitchen. If you enjoy changing up your holiday home from year to year I hope that you’ll be inspired!

Simple Elegant Christmas Home Tour – In the Dining Room & Kitchen

Christmas decorating can be overwhelming! Before, we all used to look to magazines for inspiration. At this time it’s more likely Instagram, Pinterest and of course blogs. On social media (such as Instagram) it often looks as though some people have perfect lives and homes. It’s been disheartening to read that it makes some folks feel badly about their own decor. Obviously they are not and much of it is smoke and mirrors. Decorate for YOU and thanks to Krista of The Happy Housie blog for organizing this tour!

I just love these new bar stools that I received from brand partner Serena & Lily.

Organizing & Decluttering

I love our home and decorating seasonally has always been something that I enjoy! Looking back at my own style over the years, it continues to evolve and become more simple. This past year we have done some massive clearing out and organizing and it’s a great feeling! Definitely paring it down to the ease of this simple elegant Christmas home tour with items that I already have. Along with the downsizing of object with little importance I’ve acquired some new timeless items, such as these bar stools.

A collection of ribbon I hung mini boxwood wreaths on the backs of the dining chairs. Not only there, but I used ribbon to hang a wreath also on the mirror.

Repurpose

Repurposing seasonally and new home decor items used are year round items. Flowers and plants incorporated into each of the seasons my home has a fresh new look. Vintage pieces mixed with new, old farmhouse finds mingled with modern. DIY projects make it unique. It’s what I love…for MY home and what makes it unique to me. Clearly you can do this too by shopping your own home first, then add the small items as you see fit. Find the ruffled chair covers HERE.

I’ve had this simple artificial Noble Fir tree for several years and it’s made an appearance in the dining area this Christmas.

To keep a non cluttered simple elegant Christmas home tour look I’m leaving the table unset. Besides, these battery operated copper lights add glitz too as does the chandelier.

We often entertain outdoors during the holiday season in Miami. Our dining area is small, so we fling open the doors and head outside. In addition to the inside space it’s great to have that option when guests come over.

Here’s a scene from last Christmas and you can read the post HERE. Next on the tour is the talented Jenna Kate At Home, so head there and continue this week of Christmas beauty!

    Janet,
I find the older I get that less IS more. I used to be the person to decorate every room for Christmas. Garlands everywhere……….too. I think that is pretty, but I feel now that less stands out even more. Your dining room is beautiful and of course I love your kitchen updates with all the white! I enjoy your videos so much! Thank you for being an inspiration and so down to earth. Cannot say how much I love that and admire that in you.

    Merry Christmas!!! xo
