Sometimes I feel as if I live in paradise and that bit of tropical flair on our patio needed a little bit of help to brighten things up for spring and the upcoming summer months. It’s that time here when if you are indeed outdoors you congregate and chill by the pool…
to escape the heat. Things on our patio were looking somewhat ho hum and a bit bland and were calling for color, so when At Home approached me I was more than thrilled to work with them on this “colorizing” project! Take a look at how designer Brian Patrick Flynn, whom I had the pleasure of meeting at the HGTV Dream Home 2016 styled the HGTV Spring House with At Home products!
With my love of blue and aqua and my “go to” neutral tones to work with, I knew that bringing out the tones of the pool water was a natural. Did I ever tell you that you can see the pool as soon as you walk into our front door? It’s really lovely to see, and the color pop that is behind the pool now in our “chill zone” {as the kids named it:~}} extends your eye to look beyond…
A long view, and I’d really like to build a permanent gazebo some day but it’s hard to get my husband on board with that project:~{{
I’m going a little backwards here, but above you can see a before shot of how the chill zone looked with not a whole lot of color. Pretty, but bland…
You know me…I have flowers EVERYWHERE and if it’s the weekend I put them out poolside as well. I set the table in a large glass vase {aka…candle holder} has a frosted effect that was just the perfect size for my hydrangeas, roses and eucalyptus arrangement…
The At Home pillows are mixed in various patterns and that’s okay to do in my designing eye as long as the colors are coordinated. I love mixing up stripes, paisley, chevron and floral prints and these all work…
And although I have mad skills as a floral arranger or designer, admittedly I DO NOT have a green thumb…and leave that to my daughter who loves caring for the plants at our home. I’m in LOVE big time with this ceramic garden stool from At Home that looks like copper…
The sun is going down and I captured some photos before we sat here to enjoy a glass of wine…
The pale blue Sophie wine glasses are plastic and since we don’t really want to have much glass around the pool when we have people over carrying drinks around they will work well for outdoor entertaining…
Containers from
At Home…on my DIY Rescued Gold Bar Cart that I talked about
HERE…
The large white ceramic candle lantern is definitely a favorite and I’ll be using it indoors over the summer months on the dining table as well…
I’ll be sharing more with these products from
At Home soon, but for now…it’s time to enjoy the patio and outdoor warm weather life!
This post is sponsored by At Home but all thoughts, styling and photos are my own…

beautiful! especially love the bar cart!
Hi Janet, I love the colors and with the pool it is so relaxing. I could spend a whole day setting under your gazebo. Your choice is great. So enjoy your beautiful chill zone. Have a wonderful week.
I need to get cracking on my patio, no pool but I do love to sit out there.
