Vintage Christmas wrapping paper made easy with free digital papers. A short list of budget friendly adornments gives your holiday packages a one of a kind look!
Do you love to be different and not follow the crowd? Then these ideas for vintage Christmas wrapping paper might work for you. I adore shopping yard sales, flea markets along with thrift stores when time permits. Over the years have garnered a large collection of vintage Christmas decor items and bits and bobs. Mixing them in with new gives a certain charm that new items alone simply can’t.
Most of the vintage Christmas wrapping paper embellishments that I’ve collected were found in bags. Some the original plastic bags from the 5 & 10 cents stores like Kresge of back in the day. Hilarious to look at the price tags of these bagged items, differing from today. If thinking of use for gift packages, look for smalls. Bonus…they are easy to store and fun to collect! I’ll include a SHOP THE LOOK at the END OF THIS POST.
What To Look For – Vintage Christmas Package Adornments
- Small bottle brush trees
- Miniature or small tree ornaments
- Small vintage picks
- Feather angels
- Miniature deer or other small animals
- Vintage ribbon
- Older Christmas greeting cards
- Actual vintage Christmas wrapping paper
Obviously these gifts are on the small side, and you know what they say about “good things in small packages”. One of the things that I often purchase at yard sales are small vintage gift boxes. If you’re lucky enough to find some of them you don’t even need to wrap. Simply add a pretty embellishment and that should do, while letting the box design shine (as the pale blue box below).
But I digress, as today we are talking vintage Christmas wrapping paper and accessories or embellishments.
I have some FREE Christmas Wrapping Papers that you can download and print. The three beautiful marbleized papers above are included, as well as these florals and more! See them on THIS PAGE and then you’ll be able to grab from there to save. You can print the papers at home in letter size and use on small packages or take to a place like Walgreens on a flash drive and print as big as they allow you to! All are in high resolution and for your own use only.
Fun way to use vintage Christmas wrapping paper
- Cut a full sheet of the paper that I’ve given you to download into strips. I folded the paper first to cut 8 even strips that would fit my box top well.
- Then weave your paper in a warp and weft way to fit the top of the box.
- Once you’ve finished weaving, straighten your strips and add small dabs of glue or double-sided tape to hold in place.
- If your box is larger, simply print out and cut more paper as needed.
- Add embellishments and if super ambitious, rinse and repeat on all the remaining sides ( I did not).
