Pine cone crafts abound, including making pine cone wreaths, holiday ornaments, dolls, animals and more! Painting your pine cones is the perfect way to add a little more pizazz and get your home decor ready for the holidays.
First things first! If you are bringing in pinecones from the outdoors you'll want to clean them up! They could have some nasty critters living in them that you may not see right away.

Once debugged your pine cones are ready to paint!
You can now dip your pinecone into the paint by wrapping some floral wire around the top (flatter) portion. Wrap it loosely around the top portion of the pinecone until it is enough to hold and dip into the paint.
I like to use household latex paint for my painting pinecones projects.
