5 Easy Ways To Refresh Your Home For Spring

Refresh your home for spring! Today the sun is shining, flowers are blooming and we want our homes to look light as the air outside! I’m sharing 5 of my favorite ways to quickly add a light and breezy look to your home and refresh your decor…

1. PILLOWS and THROWS

Toss a few pillows on the bed or your sofa and instantly change your room’s mood (and maybe yours too:-). A pastel throw or perhaps a sweet floral pillow will give your space that happy spring feel and give a soft touch to a neutral room. If you still have those winter pieces out, pack them away, or give them away and replace with lightly colored textiles. Be daring and perhaps try a shade that you normally don’t include in your home, as pillows and throws can be found at any price point and are easy enough to change out on demand.

These colors are a little bold for me, but I’m being a daring rebel and I like it.

2. FLOWERS

It’s certainly no secret that I love floral arrangements and they can be the sole pop of color in any room. There is a blooming abundance available and everything just comes alive in spring, so be sure to treat yourself weekly if possible at the grocery or some wildflowers picked roadside. Refresh your home with flowers!

Some of my personal favorites are ranunculus, peonies and garden roses…but a bunch of field flowers in a jar resonate seasonal beauty as well.

3. ACCENTS

As it’s often said, it’s all in the details and I strongly believe that in design as well as in styling what you have. A simple teacup that is dear to you, or even a thrift shop find can be placed on a white tabletop for an object of art on it’s own.

Candles are wonderful accents for spring, especially in the colors that reflect what’s outside. Not only that, but I love to have a softly scented soy candle or two burning while I work that can make it smell great at home.

4. RUGS

Same rug…but with different accents, and both styled for spring simply.

Consider finding an accent rug in a shade of blue if you haven’t used one before. They are on trend and won’t break the bank and you can easily switch them out in the kitchen or bathroom to add some color and freshen up your rooms. Refresh your home with a new rug and you’ll immediately see a difference!

5. TABLETOP

Whether inside your home or out, think about using your dining table or porch table as a work of art. Mix and match some place settings with spring colors of blush, lavender and pale blue. Use linens both old and new and don’t be afraid to combine patterns and colors as long as they are in similar hues. If you are like me and don’t sit at the dining room table during the week very often…leave your table set during the week and you’ll just love having a constant reminder of spring and summer even as you work around the house!

I love your white bedspread! Where did you get it?

    1. Thanks Michele! It is from Soft Surroundings, but unfortunately they don’t seem to carry it any longer.

I really need that sage green throw! I have a 200 year old cabin with walls just that color. I have loved your blog for years, and always learn something new from you! Keep up the inspiring posts, and if you remember and don’t mind sharing where you purchased the throw …. it would be much appreciated!

    1. It’s more of a Robin’s Egg blue Christi and was from Annie Selkie Pine Cone Hill. Not sure if they still carry it, but I would check the website.
