Ideas To Create Your Perfect Spring Coffee Table

Floral Arrangement

spring coffee table styling with Juliet Roses and pink peonies

Nothing says spring quite like fresh flowers. Last week I received some beautiful florals from my friends at Petal Driven. If you’re looking for some beautiful blooms for yourself or a friend, I have worked with them for several years now and can always attest to the quality and can count on fresh and fabulous florals! I choose a colorful array of seasonal blooms including Juliet roses, pink peonies and a variety of other pale garden roses along with some greenery.

Other wonderful spring flowers are of course tulips, daffodils, and cherry blossoms. An alternative is to use faux florals and I often do in my home! My favorite sources are Amazon (see my choices here) and aFloral (see spring blooms here). aFloral has stunning vases and flower containers as well! If you’re looking for the most realistic faux florals I recommend these at Pottery Barn and over the years I’ve amassed a nice collection to use over and over!

Consider the colors of your living room and select flowers that complement your existing decor. I prefer to choose soft pastel blooms for a harmonious look with my decor.

Decorative Bowl

One can never have too many decorative bowls, especially on a spring coffee table! You may not know this about me, but I used to be a potter with lots of experience in wheel throwing. The bowl above is one that I made years back and it was raku fired and one of my favorite pieces!

For your spring coffee table, you may wish to opt for a decorative bowl in a pastel hue or with floral motifs. I love this trending marble scalloped bowl and it would be perfect for a spring coffee table! Fill it with decorative eggs, or even small succulents for a whimsical touch that adds texture and interest to your coffee table. The bowl can serve as a versatile centerpiece that can be easily changed with the seasons. During spring, fill it with items that evoke the essence of the season, such as faux bird eggs, decorative nests, or miniature garden figurines. Play with different textures and heights to create visual appeal.

The ruffle bowl below is one that I made (by hand) and you can find a simple tutorial for that in this post.

Art Object Or Collectible

Showcase a unique piece of art or a cherished collectible that reflects your personal style. Whether it’s a sculptural figurine, a colorful ceramic vase, or a framed botanical print, let it be a conversation starter that adds character to your spring coffee table. Consider the theme of your living room and choose an art object or collectible that complements the overall aesthetic. Select pieces that incorporate elements of nature, such as floral motifs, crystals, animals, or landscapes. Display the item prominently on your coffee table, allowing it to take center stage. The piece in my spring coffee table styling above is a large amethyst geode from Brazil.

Stylish Tray

A stylish tray not only helps to organize your spring coffee table but also serves as a foundation for creating vignettes. Choose a tray with intricate details or a mirrored surface to add a touch of elegance. This tray has a green marble look on the inside and reflects my personal style so well.

Arrange smaller items like candles, books, and decorative objects on the tray for a cohesive look. Consider the shape and size of your coffee table when selecting a tray. A rectangular tray works well on a larger table, while a round or oval tray complements a smaller table. Arrange the items on the tray in a balanced manner, paying attention to symmetry and scale.

Candlesticks

Set the mood with the soft glow of candlelight. Select a trio of candlesticks in metallic finishes to complement your spring theme. Place them strategically on your coffee table to create ambiance and warmth. Consider the height and placement of the candlesticks to ensure they don’t obstruct the view or interfere with conversation. Group them together for a cohesive look, or scatter them around the table for a more casual feel. Choose unscented candles to avoid conflicting with the fragrance of any floral arrangements.

Stack Of Books

Add height and dimension to your coffee table with a stack of coffee table books. Choose books with vibrant covers or subjects that resonate with the season, such as gardening, floral arrangements, or outdoor living. Stack them neatly or arrange them in a staggered formation for visual interest. Consider mixing books of different sizes and shapes to create a dynamic display. Add decorative bookends to keep the stack upright and add a touch of personality to your coffee table.

Decorative Beads

Incorporate a decorative string of glass beads like this one to add a playful touch to your coffee table display. Opt for beads in soft pastel tones for a subtle nod to spring. Drape them over a vase or arrange them around other decor items for an added layer of charm. Consider incorporating other natural elements, such as twigs, branches, or feathers, for a rustic touch. Experiment with different lengths and textures to create visual interest and movement.

Lidded Box

Keep clutter at bay with a lidded box that doubles as storage and decor. Choose a box in a coordinating color or pattern to tie the look together. Use it to corral remote controls, coasters, or other small items while adding a decorative element to your coffee table. Consider the material and texture of the box, such as this woven rattan set of two boxes, lacquered wood, or patterned fabric, to add visual interest. I have a smaller size round box that I picked up in Paris last spring on my coffee table above since it has meaning! Place your box strategically on your coffee table, either on its own or as part of a larger vignette.

Candle

Complete your spring coffee table ensemble with a scented candle in a fresh, floral fragrance. Whether it’s jasmine, lavender, or citrus-infused, choose a scent that evokes the essence of springtime. Place the candle in a decorative holder or atop a stack of books for an added layer of sophistication. Consider using multiple candles of varying heights and sizes to create a dramatic effect. Opt for candles in decorative jars or vessels that complement your coffee table decor and add a touch of elegance to the space.

By incorporating these styling ideas, you can create a spring-inspired coffee table that not only looks beautiful but also reflects the spirit of the season. Experiment with different combinations of colors, textures, and objects to create a look that is uniquely yours. Let your creativity flourish as you infuse your space with the refreshing energy of spring. Whether you prefer a minimalist aesthetic or a more eclectic vibe, there are endless possibilities for transforming your coffee table into a stunning focal point that will impress guests and uplift your spirits all season long.

Didn’t see a picture using the beads. This fad is something I just don’t understand so I was really hoping for suggestions so that I might grasp this decorative concept because I really don’t “get it.”

    1. Hi Cindy,
I have an image of the beads that I have (the aqua glass ones) but didn’t have a chance to style them for a photo. Usually I just lay them draped over a book with perhaps a plant placed on the book as well. Hope this helps you.
