Beach House White Christmas – Effortless Entertaining

Beach house white Christmas! It’s been a season full of white that to me evokes a feeling of calm and peace. Friends, the world is just getting crazier by the day. I feel that serenity is needed and what better way than a white Christmas at home.

Today I’m am playing hostess along with my friend Rhoda of Southern Hospitality, as we share a link-up party with the bloggers of our Facebook group Blogging Fifty. We hope that you take a few moments and visit some of these talented bloggers! I’m also playing hostess for a dinner party and effortless entertaining with a simple approach.

Back to the beach house white Christmas, as I have more photo inspiration to share. I’m not sure if it’s a function of the years passing by…but I’m trying to live my best intentional and peaceful life. I do think that some of this comes with age in remembering the days of having toddlers around and how difficult that was to even think about.

As the years go by and my children are now adults, I know (and try to pass along to them) the virtue of patience. I see the lessons taught coming to fruition in what they do and I couldn’t be more proud. But it’s a lifelong lesson in knowing what’s important and perhaps overlooking the rest. Serenity is what I seek…the state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled.

This serenity prayer is ringing true in my life. God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference. To be decisive and to grow in mindset of being a leader…not a follower. In terms of design…white is pure and I love it. I have cleared a lot of clutter out of my homes and am aligning more with the hygge lifestyle. The beach house white Christmas party table setting below reflects that with simple white, silver and gold.

For my beach house white Christmas dinner, I draped a white glittery garland across the table and added some found on the shore bleached oyster shells. Then a few strands of silver beads and a whole lot of candles added an ethereal glow to the scene. Effortless and uncomplicated with all that you see coming from the local thrift stores and collected over the years. Gold chargers, vintage ironstone, linen dinner napkins and everyday flatware. It’s amazing what beauty can be created with any budget…and that’s something that I share and embrace often!

I received the gift of a beautiful canvas print that I knew would be perfect for my beach house white Christmas serenity theme. The artist is Christine Krainock out of Temecula, California and I love her paintings done with texture and a palette knife. Her angels really drew me in and I invite you to see more on Christine’s website at the link HERE. The canvas print that I have is called Angel Of Love and the size is 36″ x 48″.

I’ve often felt the presence of angels in my life. This year (as some of you know) my mother passed away.

Your home is beautiful, as always. I don't really know what Hygge style is, but it must be more minimal. I try to be minimal as that is what my husband prefers; however, clutter is definitely my downfall, LOL! 😉 Your angel painting is lovely! Funny that the artist lives just 10 minutes down the road from Murrieta (the next city north on HW 15 in Riverside County, California) where we just moved from and lived for 22 years…

This has been a tough month for me, too, Janet, as the anniversary of my mother's passing is this month. I had wondered why I haven't been able to blog but once a week most of the month… It is this: I miss her and my dad very much this Christmas season. Will say a prayer for you and your family. <3

    Hugs and Christmas blessings,
    Barb 🙂
