French Country Fridays 9 | Beautiful Rooms And Flowers

Welcome to French Country Fridays, the series that is quickly taking off and becoming one of my personal favorites as well as yours. Around here it’s been a week full of planning with something that is so last minute I would love any suggestions that you might have!

One of our daughters is getting married two weeks from today, and the celebration is to take place in our garden. Ahhh, kiddos these days! She just sprung this on me when I was in Austin and she was there as well that weekend for a friend’s wedding. Although my girlie wants her wedding to be intimate and very low key, there is still much for this mama to accomplish in a short amount of time. Not only that, but I have had to regroup and reorganize a trip that my husband and I plan to take soon. And did I mention that we are in the beginning stages of a kitchen reno and possibly a couple of other rooms in our home? It’s a lot and super exciting and I’ll share more of all when I can.

The flower arrangement above is something that I played with this week for the wedding prep and although it might be hard to believe the flowers are faux! Lets see what my friends are sharing for French Country Fridays this week.

I love the faux peonies, where did you purchase them?

    1. Hi Jennifer…thanks for stopping by! Just tap the words ‘flowers are faux’ to go to the source.

  2. WOW Janet! It seems that your next few weeks are going to be crazy busy! And you still have time to share these beautiful posts!! Inspiring!!

  3. You know what Janet? If there is anyone who can pull this off in 2 weeks, it’s you!! It sounds like something my kids would do to me too. Like when they were little and next thing you know it, 2 kids were invited to dinner and I didn’t know it until they sat down at the table. lol. You’ve got everything you need in your stash to make it beautiful. But the kitchen reno…….noone’s allowed in the kitchen. lol. I wish I could be there to help you, but I think you’ve got this. 😉 You’re the Queen of decorating!

  4. Wow! Such exciting and happy news, Janet! I’m sure that it will be beautiful with your taste and style at hand! I DIYed my daughter’s wedding in 2011, but I had a whole year to plan! My best friend and I bought the flowers at a Miami market and we put blue and white striped ribbon around. I bought small votives, fish bowls, and large ones in bulk at Michaels with coupons! She had a nautical wedding with sand and shells in the big bowls for centerpieces. We put fish netting on the tables and even found discounted navy blue tulle to tie around all the chairs! I did all the signs and decor. It was alot of work but she loved it. I’m so excited for you all! I know it will be beautiful!

I have confidence in your ability to pull this off but glad it is you and not me! You will need that vacation when it is over. Just take a day at a time, keep it simple, and amazingly, God will carry you through as it falls into place! I have been in similar positions with my now adult children/grandkids so really do know the pressure you must feel. Best of luck.

  6. Congratulations and good luck with the wedding. My daughter had an elegant garden wedding at Mount Snow, Vermont. The girls wore gowns of different shades of blue. We decorated with blue hydrangeas and white cala lilies. It was a stressful time in my life, but beautiful, Keep pushing through. Best wishes, Suzanne C.
