Dream closet for most of us above! In our own primary bedroom we have a dressing area between the bedroom and the primary bathroom. Our his and hers walk in closets have built in units, but the closets are small. We built them as part of an addition to our home years ago. If I had it to do over it would look like the above and just be one large closet! But we did add the beautiful DIY Mirrored Barn Doors and they make them look quite glamorous! See that post here.

I am in the process this week of cleaning out my closet, as there are are so many clothes and shoes to give away. This is the time of year that many of us seem to organize and in my home it’s no exception! I’ve rounded up some of my favorite ready made closet organizing bins and pieces that you can shop below:

One of my favorite useful and versatile ways to store items in my home is by having lots and lots of baskets and buckets on hand. Versatility is key when you want to pare down.

This is a carpet bag and I have a bucket inside of it to hold the water and flowers. I also use it for holding throws next to a chair and sometimes for magazine storage as well. Awesome storage bin and happen to love soft baskets like this one.

A vintage olive bucket holding flowers, faux in this case…and I photographed this in the spring. At the moment it’s holding firewood beside the mantel in our bedroom and it sometimes is used as a storage container for papers beside my desk.

You know this DIY FLOWER BUCKET by now and when I don’t have flowers on hand I use it for towel storage by the pool or in the laundry room.

Lots of great storage tips here Janet. When it comes to storage I try to avoid plastic as much as possible. Snazzed up boxes are ideal and environmentally friendly also using fabrics is a great tip. Personally I like things up and away from the floor. Hanging shoes n boots is perfect. I would love to see your garage storage Janet. All your beautiful Christmas trees and various decor items. A clean n tidy garage does not happen often in the area where I live. Tattle tale sign is the car is parked outside because the inside of the garage is full. Lol. Again I use the walls for all that “stuff”. One can never have too many shelves or hooks!
