A 15 minute project is always something that seems to work it’s way into my schedule and this one is pretty for Valentine’s Day (& beyond) and a great way to add color to a wall.
I’m a fan of hearts and with my birthday being in February I’ve collected heart jewelry and some other small heart shaped items since childhood. One of my favorite hearts is a ring that I’ve worn since I was around 5 years old that has my initials monogrammed into the heart. My dad gave me that and it holds special meaning…
For this project, I started with a simple
HEART WREATH FORM that is made out of wire. After cutting the flowers down to around 2 or 3 inches of stem, I started wrapping along the shape of the form with
FLORAL WIRE.
If you want to keep your flowers alive longer on your wreath, these
FLORAL PICKS that I use will hold water and keep them fresh…
It’s not rocket science and it didn’t take me more than about 15 minutes or so to create this. I wired in some greenery from my grocery store flowers of the week and added a few magnolia leaves clipped from a neighborhood tree. In my previous post I talked about designing a centerpiece in a tureen and these are from the same group of flowers…so I have really been able to stretch what I have…
Easy and simple and so romantic! I’m going to make a couple more and the wire can just be cut once the flowers are past their prime, or you can skip cutting the wire and just pull out the flowers and greenery for fresh replacements…
I’m linking up with myself and featuring some of my previous Valentine’s Day related posts that you might be interested in…
THIS circa 2009 post was from a feature that I wrote for Romantic Homes Magazine and is a DIY for you…
