People and things with a story have always grabbed Kristie’s attention. Frequenting antique shops and flea markets became a way of life for her in her early twenties, leading Kristie to a career in interiors. After spending 35 years working in various aspects of the interior design industry, Kristie decided to shift her focus to abstract painting and in 2019 began learning to paint still life. Shortly afterwards, she started designing and curating a line of beautiful hand finished gold leaf frames to offer her art collectors.

Work In Progress

Kristie’s home features an open concept layout, so it was important to her to continue French country charm throughout.

Our home is always a work in progress. The rooms rarely stay the same for too long.  I love antiques and have an affinity for pieces with French country charm. I started collecting antiques and vintage pieces about 40 years ago, shortly after I met my husband. He grew up in a home furnished with beautiful antiques and developed an appreciation for their quality construction and detail.

French style has been on my radar since I was born. Both of my grandmothers used French country charm style furnishings throughout their homes which I think contributed to my love of French antiques. One of my grandmothers was French and possessed effortless style in her home and her attire. My other grandmother used predominantly white and gold throughout her home with beautiful crystal chandeliers and Venetian glass mirrors. Her Christmas tree was the same every year, covered with gold and white ornaments. She loved anything gilded and so do I.

Classic & Timeless

After experimenting with various decorating styles I have learned that classic timeless decor set against neutral backdrops suit me best. It works nicely to showcase color in my collections. I love color but have always found my way back to pale delicate neutrals anytime I have used bold intense hues. At the end of the day that’s what brings me a feeling of calm and I love the way my French antiques show against soft off white walls.
