Home Style Saturdays: Flowers and Furniture
Welcome in to Home Style Saturdays friend and I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend! When we are home on the weekends my husband and I work around the house, just like you probably do. Often you’ll find us sprucing up the garden from the damage that we had with Hurricane Irma. It’s incredible how long it takes plants and shrubs to recover from a hurricane! We lost so much of our landscaping that little by little new things are planted and dead flora is cut back. It’s time consuming and a costly operation, since on average our trees are at least 30 feet tall. Often there are jobs that are NOT diy and we have to hire out. We just had someone come in and cut back massive amounts of palm tree foliage and coconuts galore. That’s enough about me, and before we head to Home Style Saturdays I’m sharing a sneak peek of something tropical coming your way soon!

Oh Janet, I so understand about working on the yard! We lost 6 trees to be exact! Two of my plumerias, two Italian cypress, and two arborvitae. I’m still trying to cut back and I’m changing up some things in my garden so that takes time too! Sigh! Always a work in progress! LOL! Thanks for all the beautiful images! Have a blessed weekend!
Doesn’t it break your heart? Trees get to be like old friends.
The hard freeze with ice and snow literally melted our beautiful cactus gardens on the southern coast of Texas. We’ve been pulling up dead withered cacti and trimming for weeks. While the cooler temperatures were a nice reprieve …the damage is no fun and definetly not profitable!
So sorry, I bet they were valuable too.
We have a few dead trees to remove, we think due to a leaking sewer owned by the water board, under the side of the property, as all the trees are in a row. Very sad as they were mature fruit trees.
So glad you weren’t injured in the hurricane!
