Today I’m sharing a before and let me tell you that what you don’t see you is definitely not as nice as what you do see in blog land! Many of us tend to show you the beautiful finished products and styled settings. One of those rarely seen rooms that is a definite ‘IN NEED OF A MAKEOVER’ is this one at our beach home.
We have two guest rooms here and this is the room that is most often used. It looks like it’s been used and abused and is somewhat of a hot mess and NEEDS HELP!
To be fair, the room isn’t used that often any longer since it was a kid’s room and the kiddos are grown now. The linens have long seen better days since I picked them up when we first purchased this home almost 14 years ago now. The furniture all came from flea markets, which is fine…but I’m looking to give this room more polish and class.
I mean….don’t even look at that stained and shabby dust ruffle and the carpet has seen way better days!
It’s time to move on from this shabby decor and I’ve put together a little informal inspiration board below of my direction.
I’m so thrilled to partnering for this room with Carpet One Floor & Home® to replace the carpet in this room. I do like to have carpet in bedrooms and at our beach home it’s really necessary to keep that part of the home quiet and comfortable for guests. Carpet is soft underfoot when our guests step out of bed and it’s durable and long lasting.
The folks at Carpet One Floor & Home® in our area were so helpful and the store is individually owned, so it was nice to deal with a small town feel shop. Their product Relax, it’s…Lees is the toughest carpet, offering both stain resistance and style. We have allergies and the Healthier Living® Flooring Installation System delivers antimicrobial protection for flooring, minimizes dust, and inhibits allergens, mold growth and odors….so it’s good not to have to worry about all of that.
They also have a 25 year no exclusions warranty and how many products can say that?
It’s been a long time since we’ve shopped for carpet, so we really looked around quite a bit and took our time. We looked at various textures and wanted to keep the flooring similar in tone to the tile in the hallway to create a cohesive flow.
We bring our dogs up to the beach home when we are there, and I feel good about the tight weave and the warranty that Lees® offers.
Tada! This is the Relax, it’s…Lees carpet that we selected and the color on the top is what we chose.
