Valentine’s Day Printables, Fashion, A Yummy Burger & More – Morning Musings 8

Oh friends…it’s been FREEZING here in South Florida, or at least I think so lol! We actually had to turn the heat on last night for the first time in 10 years! Thank goodness my husband had the forethought to make sure it was in working order and he had to do some wiring repairs. Thankful…and the fact that I get to dig out my sweaters which don’t see much use unless I’m traveling. We are all nice and cozy now, including the pets! Here’s a cute shot of Darby getting in on the action here earlier in the week and I’ll share the rest of this soon.

LET’S GET PERSONAL

We did enjoy sitting around the outdoor fire pit the other evening before the freeze came. If you missed my fire pit post…it’s a fun one and you can see it HERE! Another thing that I did before the freeze was to pick some of the produce that we have growing. Here is our sweet bunny Mars eating some romaine from the garden. She is an inside pet that was an Easter bunny rescue and we’ve had her for about 7 or 8 years now. We just love her and she gets along well with our dogs and even the cat!

WHAT I’M LOVING IN DECOR

A good friend of mine was preparing for a yard sale a few weeks ago. Of course (knowing me), she let me swing by for some first dibs! I picked up a few things and one was a vintage egret painting. Although sometimes I do hang art without a frame, this needed a pop of gold and I like it so much better now! You can find the exact gold bamboo style frame HERE and it comes in a variety of sizes. WHAT I’M WEARING

I just received a few gifted pieces from Chicos, which as you may have read before is one of my favorite places to shop! I’ve been shopping Chicos for years, ever since my late mother-in-law introduced me to the brand. Their pieces are up to date, comfortable, casual and the sizing structure is consistent. We went out for lunch the other day and I wore this RUFFLE TUNIC SHIRT, these GIRLFRIEND ANKLE JEANS and this HEART NECKLACE. Not pictured are the black (available in lots of colors!) BEAUTY PRODUCTS I’M USING

One word today…AESOP! I was first introduced to this line by one of my daughters and have been using it ever since. They have a store in the Miami Design District, but I generally order online. The hand and body balms are my favorite and I can’t be without them! This AESOP RESURRECTION HAND BALM has over 500 positive reviews and with good reason. Try it, as I think you’ll agree. I’m also fond of the REVERENCE DUO and the PRIMROSE FACIAL CLEANSING MASK. Bonus that Aesop is cruelty free.

WHAT I’M COOKING & EATING

As mentioned, we have a produce garden this year and I’ve been eating lots of salad. There is nothing like growing your own, but our season is quite limited and I enjoy it while I can! This salad was simply a variety of lettuces and some strawberries. I dressed it with my favorite homemade dressing that has just 3 ingredients! Equal parts of mustard (any kind), maple syrup and water. I make a batch and store it in the fridge in these glass containers that look great on the table as well! Portobella mushroom burgers…yes please! Buy the large mushroom caps, peel them and marinate in your favorite marinade for about an hour. Then simply add to a GRILL PAN and serve on a bun with your favorite condiments! Since they aren’t as large as a real burger I generally stack two into a sandwich. They truly have a meaty flavor once grilled! This STAUB CAST IRON GRILL PAN is currently half off with free shipping and I needed a new one, so picked it up!

WHAT I’M WATCHING

Still going through seasons of Reign on Netflix and am mesmerized, although there is a lot of violence as many period pieces are. The first episode of The Gilded Age on HBO Max was so good and I can’t wait for the next!
