It’s always so exciting to see remodeling plans come to life and when they are long awaited, all the better! We have been up at our beach home since Christmas completing some loose ends and relaxing as time permits. The two full bathrooms and the powder bath have been completely gutted and renovated! The laundry room is a work in progress and the entry is getting a makeover as well.
The view down the cavernous hallway into our master bedroom with the beach waiting for us outside.
With all of the construction that’s a lot of dust and dirt, but since we don’t live here full time much of the pain of that was avoided. As you may know (if you’ve been a reader for awhile), my husband is a general contractor. However, we turned this job over to a local construction firm since we have no connections up here. So you know how everyone has been doing Zoom meetings and working remotely this year? We definitely feel pretty accomplished in doing so on a major renovation project! Who knew?!
What I do know is that we have waited a long time to get these renovations done! Not only that, but we found some money saving ways to cut our budget and I’ll be sharing all of that with you soon. Plus we have some of the necessary design (and construction) tips and sources coming your way in 2021!
If you missed my post with some before images and my design boards, find them linked > here. A few changes were made along the way, but we stuck to much of what was planned. My major inspiration was the master bathroom renovation at our Miami house. I’ve been enjoying that spa like atmosphere immensely over the last couple of years since it’s been finished and knew that I wanted a similar vibe at the beach! Find out more about my master bathroom in > this post!
I’m still waiting on some decor pieces to come in to polish things off and can’t wait to see the finished look. Are we ever finished decorating our homes though? I don’t think so, and there will be lots more to hopefully inspire you in 2021.
Happy New Year to everyone from here at the beach and sign up for my mailing list so that you don’t miss what’s coming! xo…Janet
