Room Reveals With New Flooring

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by LifeProof Flooring. As always, all opinions and words are honest and my own.

Room reveal days are always exciting and although we aren’t completed just yet I’m sharing three! First up is my home office, that hasn’t changed much in terms of layout or furniture. The before doesn’t look awful at all, but what’s hiding underneath it all are the old damaged floors. Painting a floor can only take things so far, especially given the fact that we have busy lives and pets in this house!

My Home Office – Before

I talked about the redesign of this room three years ago in THIS post. Done on a budget with pretty much all of the furnishings second hand and repurposed.

As mentioned, most of the flooring looked good after painting three years ago, but my desk chair caused this to happen (below). Plus the floors had some mildew underneath from hurricane damage that started to bleed through. Yuck!

My Home Office – After!

The design of these floors makes this room SO MUCH more functional! The Cottonwood pattern from LifeProof at The Home Depot is modern and clean and really adds value to our home.

I spend a lot of time in here, so I’m looking for a comfortable chair for lounging. The grey tones in this floor look so much like wood and I’m able to choose just about any color to coordinate.

My Husband’s Home Office – Before

Umm, yes…yikes! I’m embarrassed to show you this and truth be told I haven’t set foot in here (other than to clean it) in a long time. My husband’s home office was room that he didn’t want me to touch and I gave him that. Since we are upgrading many things in our home these last couple of years it was time. Basically we had started at one end of the house and have been working our way through. Time is a factor and budget.

He finally acquiesced when he learned that we would be getting the new flooring that was much needed. We are still working with what we have as much as possible, repurposing and DIYing much of the furniture. The basics of home improvement are costly, but we feel the most worthwhile. In came the handsome design of the – LifeProof Cottonwood Valley Beige and Grey Luxury Rigid Vinyl Plank Flooring.

One of my favorite features of this design is the impressive hand scraped look. I feel that it goes well with both my light feminine home office and his darker masculine office. We aren’t finished decorating in here and waiting for his new desk to arrive soon.

Our Daughter’s Room

With our daughters being all grown and the comings and goings, this room got a more grown up look. One of our girls is living here right now and in-between jobs. I don’t have any before photos for you, and just a partial after. We switched out the twin bed for a full and have been majorly decluttering. Once again, the LifeProof floor design is perfect for what will eventually be their preferred modern bohemian style. I’m really loving the direction that my designing daughter is taking here!

  1. We are looking at this for our sunporch, did you install it yourself? Have you noticed any scratches in the floor from chairs, furniture etc

    1. It was installed by the Home Depot team and I must say they did an excellent job. There are no scratches…it’s extremely durable and we have really been putting it to the test around here!

  2. I put this down in my bedrooms and living area, could NOT be happier!!!

    1. Great to hear…we will enjoy this for years to come I’m sure Allison!

I have this flooring in my kitchen & just love it! I had it installed a couple of years ago & it still looks brand new! So easy to clean, as well, & doesn’t show anything unless you drop a bag of flour on it! Enjoy it; you made a great choice!

    1. That’s great to hear…we are loving this flooring so far!

Hi, I really like the look of this floor. Some pictures have more of a brown tone and others have more of a gray tone. I know it is called beige-gray, but I was curious if you feel like it leans toward more of a brown tone or more of a gray tone overall?
    Thanks,
    Liz
