Welcome in to the Seasonal Harvest Tour hosted by Brenda of Cozy Little House. I hope that you aren’t too “toured out” as there certainly are lots of home tours these days! I always enjoy participating in Brenda’s yearly autumn tour with the down to earth group that she puts together and there is so much cozy comfort to see with these talented ladies. My own feature today is the first in the line-up and I’ll post the other day’s below. Please keep reading (see the READ MORE button and GO!)
I couldn’t resist sharing this, as my husband happened to walk in while I was quickly shooting the kitchen/dining room in our home at the end of the day. This is the sort of greeting that we get from the fur babies, especially since were in NYC for several days and Bartley and Darby (Toby too:-) missed us as much as we missed them. It’s moments like these that make a house a home.
Seasonal Harvest Table Decorations – Ideas
Speaking of my husband, he brought me these white alstroemerias last week right before I left on Wednesday morning. Not my favorite flower, but they are white and I’ll give him that. He knew that I was working on fall-izing our home and that was sweet. By the way, it’s currently 86 degrees here with a “feels like” of 96 (I kid you not). There is a hurricane brewing out there (Matthew)…please keep us in your thoughts as it’s heading north. I talked about experiencing one of these bad boys in THIS POST and don’t want to have a repeat performance.
Our older daughter was here taking care of the dogs, and she enjoys bright color so set up some garden clippings for her take on a Florida fall.
My GOLD BAR CART was nicely styled before, but she added her own modern touch with more from the garden. It’s worth it to me to mix styles to have the best dog sitter on the planet 🙂
Looking on in…you’ve seen this view before if you have been a blog reader. A little bit about the set up…table is ONE THAT WE MADE and there is a tutorial on that post that I linked for you. The chairs are from Cost Plus World Market and look similar to Restoration Hardware chairs but at a better price point for our budget. The chandelier is vintage and I wired it up completely with vintage crystals…by hand…one.by.one. What a job! As far as jobs go I’m not sure that I recommend it unless you want to slice up your fingertips and have no nails.
I collect throws obsessively and have them in every room. This one was tossed on a chair in the dining area, just in case anyone gets cold from the blowing a/c (in the autumn, when it’s 90 outside).
Pssst…you can find the throws that we’ve been selling for years now here in OUR ETSY SHOP. In my design world ANY of these colors work with autumn.
Such a simple tablescape and I’m really enjoying the pumpkins and gourds in the barely there blush colors. I recently acquired the antique transferware bowl from a dealer in France and collecting ironstone is a thing for me. The mixing and mingling of the rustic and the chic along with the elegant is what sings to me in French country style.
I hope that you take some inspiration from my style and feel free to reach out (always!) if you have any questions. Please visit the other talented bloggers in the tour!
