This Texas Beach House Is a Colorful Take on Coastal Style

This stylish beach house was designed by Heather Scott Home & Design in Texas, and it’s the perfect mix of fun uniqueness and coastal sophistication.

As you know, I’ve featured many coastal-inspired homes in my home tour editions and while all of them have made my heart flutter, there are not many that stir away from the traditional white and blue coastal color scheme. 

Although it is my absolute favorite color duo, I also wanted to include a home that speaks to those who like more bright colors while keeping it within the coastal style. The beauty of the modern coastal style is how much freedom it allows when decorating, it’s a style with some rules but there’s a lot of room to show personality and this home tour is proof of it.

It’s a colorful, vibrant space with pops of color and tropical touches evocative of palm beach Regency style. The designers used a soft palette of blues hues to balance the bright colors, crafting a stylish and colorful take on a beach house. 

Beach House Home Tour Kitchen Ideas

The kitchen boasts coastal decor with vibrant pops of bright colors and tropical details.

The herringbone tile pattern backsplash in various shades of blue creates an eye-catching effect, enhanced by white cabinets and a custom range hood.

The kitchen island, facing the stove area, features a captivating blue color topped with a white marble tabletop that harmoniously matches the blue tile pattern. Woven rope barstools in a light beige hue and rattan lamps add a subtle contrast and tropical feel.

Coastal Home Tour Dining Room

Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining room embraces an open space concept, visually divided by an open arch that is an integral part of the architecture.

This beach house has a whimsy vibe all around, especially in this little corner adorned with a colorful play of bright hues and coastal elements makes for a delightful nook.

A stunning hooded cane back chair sits next to a teak root console table in the entryway, while a distressed Persian rug with the same blueish and coral tones is found throughout the home. 

Decor elements such as palm leaves and coral accents adorn the console table, making this entryway a harmonious mix of coastal-meets-palm spring style.

Beach House Home Tour Living Room Inspiration

In the airy living room, a grilled black-framed window washes the space in bright light. A large sisal rug sits on the hardwood floors, grounding the sitting area where two white sofas are topped with a pretty mix of cushions.

Bright pops of turquoise are sprinkled in the decor, like the ceramic lamps next to the fireplace and artwork. 

The use of color in the laundry room is just fabulous. It draws attention away from the imposing washing machines, creating a room that’s as stylish as it is functional! Notice how the same herringbone tile pattern backsplash from the kitchen is used here, just at a smaller scale. Details like these are key when creating a cohesive interior design!

Beach House Tour Bedroom

A wooden four-poster bed sits at the heart of the bedroom, its simple lines complemented by a sisal rug underneath. Vibrant coral, pink, and green throw pillows with tropical patterns create an eye-catching display against the neutral backdrop.

In another bedroom, the style turns more feminine with decor accents in a darker pink hue and floral patterns.

In the other bedroom, tropical vibes take center stage.

A teak King’s bed, bamboo mirrors, and green-patterned throw pillows infuse the space with a sophisticated and colorful beach decor style.

In the main bathroom, pretty refinement shines through with pops of pink in the decor and golden metallic accents.

Ivory custom cabinets along with light grey marble add a touch of elegance, creating a sophisticated spa-like space.

With a clear tropical decor, the other bathroom showcases a blue and green color scheme with stunning wallpaper.

The mirror displays intricate bone tile, while a green vanity cabinet becomes the focal point, tieing the design together.

The powder room exudes a dramatic mood, featuring an imposing hot pink wallpaper that steals the spotlight. A black vanity and lamps, adorned with gold details, add to the captivating ambiance.

A darker shade of blue and pops of green creates a laidback and youthful family room where a custom tv console is the main focal point.
