Decor To Come In 2023, Cozy Fashion, Pink Cocktails & The Weekly Edit 2!

Welcome to another edition of The Weekly Edit, your weekly digest featuring design, decor, fashion, beauty and links to love! Keep scrolling for some great stuff this week and say hi in the comments below!

With our house sitter in place at the home front, we are grateful to get away to our beach place to relax and recharge. It’s been really cold for we Floridians with the lows in the 30’s and highs in the 50’s…if that! We expected our kiddos for Christmas, but flights were cancelled and they should arrive soon. Thankfully we still have almost another week of vacation to hang out and gather. I’m certainly not complaining about the cold weather and do feel badly for those hard hit with these winter storms. Stay safe and cozy and if you have some spare time you could always consider perusing the variety of articles on my blog ☺️

DESIGN DIGEST

With some time on my hands I’ve been putting together ideas for possible decor changes at home. It will be back to reality soon enough and the kitchen renovation that we’ve been working on. There is a flow through from the dining room into the kitchen and then the family room that has been considering color. The main accent color in our home has always been a pale blue and I’m leaning towards adding in more green as well. I’m always inspired by the Giannetti’s work and this Los Angeles home that they recently designed has me swooning over pale sage tones and custom millwork!

Our dining “room” is a dining area and although I love the current look there may be room now to accommodate a larger table. I talked about the $20 table that I found and how I revived it in this post! I just wish that the leaf was still with it, and it’s not salvageable enough underneath to build a new leaf for.

As we are a bit further in the renovation and paint the walls I’m considering wallpaper or just adding in some of these eucalyptus and sage tones to the mix. Have you read my article on Millennial Green In Home Decor yet? Pssst, you don’t have to be a millennial to read it and I’m certainly not!

FASHION FAVORITES

As I said…it’s been cold here and I’m so glad that I added some fresh winter pieces to my wardrobe this year! I’ve wear these leggings from Chicos non stop (wearing in the shot below, all bundled up!) and they are so comfy and have double pockets for my cell phone, etc. Also from Chicos is this super comfy velour tunic that I’m going to wear with these sexy foil print leggings for a New Year’s Eve fête! For everyday wear and savings, check out Amazon’s fashion under $25 here. This super cuddly Amazon Essentials Relaxed-Fit Lightweight Lounge Terry Open-Front Cardigan is a piece that I lounge in at home and it’s currently on sale for under $15. Another favorite is this French Terry Fleece Full-Zip Hoodie for layering (under my jacket in this photo) at under $22. I’m also wearing this cable knit pom beanie…yes, it was that cold on our hike in the preserve! My jacket is from Under Armour but several years old and not sure it’s still available.

BEST OF BEAUTY

Winter weather means dry skin and these French hand creams that come in a trio are perfectly purse sized. They are shea butter based and beautifully scented. With our necks seeming to be the area that ages first, they need extra pampering in the cold weather months. This is the best neck cream that I’ve tried, hands down and well worth the price! For my face (which tends towards the oily & sensitive side) I’m all about serums and another favorite is this Vichy serum with hyaluronic acid. If you haven’t (or have!) tried serums yet, this is one that I recommend.

 WHAT TO WATCH

The White Lotus! This social satire set in two fictional resorts has the internet all abuzz and with good reason. It’s won several Emmy awards and the iconic Jennifer Coolidge is amazing as the wealthy eccentric tourist Tanya McQuoid. Written by Mike White who is finally getting his due.

On another note, if you enjoy healthy plant based meals then check out one of my favorites on YouTube, Pick Up Limes. I’ve been following Sadia for several years and she’s delightful and her recipes are simple and delicious!

WEEKLY TIP

If you’re anything like me and have perhaps too many pillows, too much extra bedding and soft goods, this set of vacuum storage bags is different than the rest! I recently purchased two sets and with a lack of storage in our home it’s been amazing how much I’ve been able to compress!
