Fancy and Easy – Holiday Entertaining Recipes
Before I get into it, we are finished with holiday decorating and I’m so happy to have that done early to focus on enjoying the season! Yes, we just may have two trees in the living room, one real that the family decorates and then the one in the background that is faux and simply full of twinkle lights. It looks so festive, especially at night!
Now…let the entertaining commence.
This first recipe is one that I got from my tennis partner years ago, and since we played a lot of tennis back then we figured that we worked it off and deserved the reward:-) The best part is that it’s decadent and perhaps the most yummy cocktail you’ll ever try and it is so easy with just 3 ingredients.
- 1/3 Creme de Cacoa
- 1/3 Brandy
- 1/3 Haagen-Daz Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
Blend in blender and freeze overnight. Alcohol doesn’t freeze, but it will get cold and then before serving you might want to blend or just hand mix a bit.
Serve w/ dash nutmeg. Optional…shaved chocolate and peppermint sticks. I had some peppermint bark handy and broke into pieces for each glass.
This is rich and so delicious and there are many variations with different ice cream flavors (like peppermint), but this is what we do. Try it and tell me what you think!
This recipe was given to me when I got married, in a recipe box! Does anyone remember those?
- 8 oz. Mild Cheese (mild cheddar, Edam, Gouda, Swiss or Colby) at room temperature
- 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar (Confectioner’s) or Honey
- 5 Tablespoons Non Fat Dry Milk Powder
- 1/4 Cup Butter (Melted)
- 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Mix all ingredients well in blender or Magic Bullet. If too dry add a small amount of milk or water until it blends. Refrigerate until firm. Recipe can be doubled or tripled. Optional: Chopped nuts, marshmallow.
It’s spreadable!
Serve as a spread on crackers or bread…it’s similar to Nutella in texture and can be used in baking as a topping…
PIN FOR LATER!
Thank you Janet! Both of these recipes look amazing and I've never heard of either one. I'll be trying those Brandy Alexanders very soon and I'll let you know what we think!
Merry Christmas!!!
Holy cow…spreadable chocolate!? How did I not know that this existed? I love that this is a recipe that I've never heard of! My husband will be over the moon excited.
Merry Christmas (no doubt it will be given the Brandy Alexanders!)
