Welcome to the southern charm home tour of Kelly’s place, my Instagram friend from Southern_Charm_Cottage! I recently had the chance to connect with her and just love everything about her home and collections and know that you will as well. She has a knack of putting pieces together without any formal training and has created a warm and welcoming southern home. “My husband and I were living in Gettysburg, Pa in our forever home. We raised our four children there and had so many wonderful memories! In 2015, my husband was offered a job opportunity in Raleigh, NC. We decided to take a leap, and moved to the south. I was excited to embrace the southern lifestyle, and wanted to find a traditional southern home. We looked at several beautiful homes, and were so happy to find this one. It checked all the boxes… especially the big front porch.”
“We love antiquing, so our home is mostly decorated with pieces we have collected over the years from various places.”
“My favorite things to collect are blue and white, and anything unique that might fit the style of our home.”
“My favorite room in the house is our living room. It’s the most colorful room in the house, and it’s the most cozy.”

“We have done so many projects since moving in (paint, new roof, porch repairs, landscaping, kitchen and bath updates…) and still have a long list of more to do.”
Favorite Projects
“My favorite project so far is probably the front door… it’s the first thing we did after moving in. It dramatically changed the look of the house both on the inside and out.”
“Second favorite project would be the outdoor fireplace. It was finished in January, and we can’t wait to spend beautiful evenings sipping wine by the fire.”
“I don’t have any formal decorating experience. I simply collect things I like, and hope they work well together. My goal is to create a comfortable and inviting place for my husband and me to live and our family and friends to visit.”

Well,well,well! I totally loved looking and touring this home! It’s refreshing to see a true traditional home. I kept wanting to see more and more. The plate rack and arches are really adorable.
Totally enjoyed having this little tour of this home. I particularly liked the chair covered in what to look to be a green leopard print. Would love to know where she got it. I have a tendency to gravitate to fabrics. This was lovely and charming.
How are YOU doing since the loss of you sweet Cavalier. I think of you often. I still haven’t recovered from the loss of my dear Miss Scarlet, and it’s been four years. I did however get two more Cavaliers. Both males and quite a handful. Nothing will replace my Miss Scarlet though.

I now this is a silly question however, can you tell me about your floors.
The color, hardwood, laminate??????. I am in the process of pulling up my carpets and laying down laminate. waterproof because of I have dogs. I was leaning towards light oak, but I have too many different wood colors in my house. I truly like the color or your floors. Any information would be helpful.
