Whether you want to decorate an entire room in this classic color combination or just want to weave it throughout your home, this post is for you! I’ve gathered some of my favorite blue and white decor products, so you can spruce up your home with this chic and timeless color combo.

The Magic of Decorating with Blue and White

Incorporating a blue and white palette in your spaces is an easy way to infuse your home with a timeless style. This classic color mix adds an effortlessly chic quality to any space. Plus, it offers something not so common when it comes to color palettes; variety.

Yes! Although there are just two colors, the many shades of blue -ranging from glistening ocean hues to darker shades- along with many white undertones, this color scheme offers you the chance to play with different elements harmoniously.

No need to worry about finding the perfect match to keep the design cohesive. You can even combine white and blue with almost any other color and it would still remain perfectly harmonious. You can mix and match, go light or dark, and make it blend in or stand out.

I personally love to keep my blue and white elements in a light-theme style room. But, it looks just as wonderful surrounded by darker hues like forest green, yellow, brown, and even red.

The best thing about this color scheme is that it works in any room—from the kitchen to the bathroom!

Just revamp your home with some of these decor elements if you want an inexpensive way to update your decor without installing furniture or painting!

My Ultimate Favorite Way To Decorate with Blue and White

It’s no secret I have a soft spot for chinoiserie and porcelain jars are another weakness of mine. Finding an affordable antique chinoiserie porcelain vase is difficult, though. That’s why I absolutely adore this affordable hand-painted chinoiserie-style bone porcelain jar. (There’s even a set of 2 Ginger Jars in this style, a total steal!)
In a similar style, a temple jar, chinoiserie storage bin set, and chinoiserie table lamp are wonderful options to incorporate chinoiserie into your interiors.

How to Incorporate blue and white in Your Home Decor:

1. Add Small Color Touches in Your Decor:

If you love the look of white and blue but feel like it may clash with your current living room interior style, consider adding white and blue in small doses.

How? Add a blue & white pop of color! There are many ways to do this. One of my favorites is dressing up the dinner table using chinoiserie-inspired elements.

Dress it up using on-theme tablecloths and dinnerware. Like this french farmhouse-inspired tablecloth and this floral one with some green hues thread through. Alternatively, you can opt for something more whimsical, such as this beautiful tablecloth featuring bluebirds. To continue the theme in the kitchen, these lovely Chinoiserie Tea Towels are a lovely touch!

You can also create a “theme” for your coffee table by placing only blue and white objects, like books, a cute tissue box cover, an eye-catching tray, and decor elements like chinoiserie-style ceramic balls. And of course, we can’t forget about flowers!

For books that go with this theme, my favorites are from Mark D. Sikes: Beautiful and More Beautiful. Another fave of mine that goes perfectly with our topic is A Passion for Blue and White’ by Carolyne Roehm

Beautifully designed, these coffee table books make great reading for home decor lovers!

2. Use blue and white Accent Pieces

Adding small furniture pieces is also a fantastic idea to introduce blue and white to your décor. With this color duo, a dull corner can be transformed into a charming nook.

Go for a comfy and luxe armchair, like this one from Safavieh which comes in beautiful sky-blue linen. You can make a statement by pairing it with a rug woven in similar muted tones and its matching bench ottoman. Or, for a more beachy aesthetic, get an armchair like this spindle chair in navy and white.

Another unexpected but less daunting way to do this is to focus on the outdoors. Create a coastal-inspired corner on your patio with a striped outdoor umbrella stand and a chinoiserie cherry blossom garden stool.

3. Incorporate Patterned Textiles

Decorative patterns in blue and white evoke that elegant and laid-back Hamptons feel we all love so much. Want to replicate it? Think stripes, check patterns, and delicate floral designs mixed in with natural textures.

My favorite way to nail this look is by having patterned fabrics, like rugs, pillow covers, bedding, and pillows.

For example, this area rug has wide stripes, giving it a refined twist on a nautical theme. Plus, it’s so easy to clean which is a must when it comes to cotton rugs! For a more traditional look, but equally striking, go for this stunning medallion design rug.  You’ll love its stain-resistant, non-shedding fabric!

This buffalo check blanket in blue and creamy tones is a lovely way to incorporate the same color theme but in softer tones. Just like this uber soft blue throw in a toile or this faux cashmere throw.

Pillows featuring the chinoiserie motifs in blue against a crisp white background look oh-so luxurious. A sophisticated example are these toile pillow covers and this delicate Laura Ashley cotton pillowcase set

4. Give Your Bedroom The Blue and White Treatment

If you want to level up your bedroom with blue and white, there are a few ways to achieve it without breaking the bank! You can focus solely on the bed or sprinkle the blue and white color scheme around through curtains, rugs, or even artwork.

Opt for a spread, like this dreamy one from Laura Ashley. Featuring cornflower blue flowers and an off-white background, this cotton lightweight cover is a timeless piece that will give you the coastal retreat aesthetic!

Another way to get a similar vibe is by adding a rug. For bedrooms, I highly recommend choosing lighter tones bedrooms makes the space feel more spacious and bright. Something like this area rug in light blue and ivory would be ideal.

Feeling bold? go for blue and white curtains! I’ve been eyeing these blue floral ones. They are simply gorgeous and would look amazing in a coastal-styled home!

If your room allows it, adding wallpaper is also a fantastic way to include this style in your bedroom without additional decor elements. No need to go overboard, you can just wallpaper one wall or create a partial wallpaper design.

My suggestion is to keep things simple and choose wallpaper designs in lighter colors and smaller prints. I’m personally obsessed with this eucalyptus leaf wallpaper that has a lovely boho vibe.

Similarly,
this wallpaper with a light blue background and ivory palm leaf silhouettes would work beautifully for a more relaxed and modern style.
