Carving and Craving A Quiet Spot

Sometimes you just crave a quiet spot to reflect in this hectic world, and although we humans are social animals it’s important to have some alone time. It can be just a corner…you don’t need a lot of space.

Room for reading and writing, and just about anyone can carve out a space that is just for you!

A comfy chair is a great way to start creating a “me” corner and just let everyone else know that it’s your private oasis. I often move my French chairs in the living room around to work or relax and all that is needed is a pillow and a throw.

A vintage alabaster light was moved in because with the rainy season I need more illumination when reading or writing notes.

This weeks flowers included some sweet Freesia in the prettiest pastel pink.

Making every moment special with a treasured pen that was a gift and is from Tiffany. The notebook is from Shabby Chic Couture and I picked that up while in London and reminds me of my travels.

A quiet spot in the living room on another day, and with minimal accessories it’s simple to create a space for napping and reading…

Everyone asks about my white tufted sofa which was a thrift store find from several years back and I had it recovered in sturdy white denim. It’s great for napping and I had a new cushion made that is stuffed with feather and down. Just pile on the blankets and pillows and make it cozy!

Set for a summer reading session with a glass of ice cold lemonade.

Just a few things have been moved and added, which took maybe 5 minutes. Easy breezy living…summer living.
