Home Tour: Vintage Cottage Style Meets Modern Design in This Seattle Home
Welcome to this new home tour edition! In today’s home tour, we’ll visit a delightful home that stole my heart at first glance!
Designed by Heidi Caillier Design, this home feels uniquely collected and lived in, with just touches of modern design here and there balancing it all out. The same interior design style is woven throughout the home – a delightful fusion of homey with whimsical touches.
Through the playful and smart use of layered textiles and an earthy color palette with eye-catching floral patterns, each room has something that stands out and makes it feel one-of-a-kind.
Let’s grab a cup of coffee and take a look around!
Home Tour: Vintage Cottage Style Meets Modern Design in This Seattle Home
Stepping into the kitchen, the first thing that catches the eye is how the Tudor-inspired architectural elements complement the color palette.
With vintage touches like the inset hood, the kitchen is filled with cozy sophistication.
Sage green, brass details, dark soapstone countertops, and terracotta floor tiles infuse warmth and character into the room while keeping a perfect balance between moody and airy.
Facing the kitchen island, the charming breakfast nook makes for a more intimate and comfier option. This type of breakfast nook is so enchanting! I personally think they make for a perfect option for young families!
The living room plays masterfully with colors, textures, and patterns.
Layered textiles in ecru and earthy shades balance out the more visually busy pieces, like the stunning marble fireplace and gorgeous floral chair.
A delightful mix of framed artworks, classic lampshades, and artisan-inspired decor pieces bring the living room’s design into perfect harmony.
The juxtaposition of textures and patterns is taken to a whole new level in the dining room. A lovely wallpaper dresses the walls, featuring a muted pink hue in the background and pretty illustrations of peaches.
Together with the arched doorway, and vintage-inspired furnishings, including a gallery of plates, Windsor chairs, and antique lighting fixtures, they create an enchanting space, don’t you think?
With a playful use of vibrant textiles and retro-inspired furniture, the bedroom is a dream for those of us who love the vintage cottage style.
The color palette here is a bit more muted with dusted salmon walls and the same use of earthy hues and soft sage greens with more textural elements proving contrast.
There’s something just so charming about the matching lampshade and headboard!
Embracing a playful mix of retro-inspired patterns and furniture, this bedroom is a dream for those of us who love the vintage cottage style!
The kids’ bedrooms are just as pretty, with a more functional and classical style. The focal point in these rooms is the four-poster beds, surrounded by layered rugs featuring playful checkered patterns for a fun touch.
The bathroom features white beadboard walls and a marble backsplash which contrasts beautifully with the wooden arched mirror and brass detailing.
While being modern and functional, this bathroom has such a delightful cottage vibe, especially with the vintage-inspired lighting and floral curtains!
In another bathroom, things get more moody. The walls are painted in a muted lilac and the golden details along with the vintage elements make it feel like a playful take on the vintage cottage style!
My favorite part of this home is the way it embraces a nostalgic vibe without going overboard. It’s the perfect mix. I’d love to hear your thoughts about this home, leave your comments below!
