Blue And Green- A Table Setting For Any Season

It’s no secret that I love the color blue. Lately I’ve been adding more green into my decor as well! Not only do the two colors mixed together create cyan, but they are a peaceful mix that brings a sense of calm to your space. So why not pair them together at the table with a blue and green table setting! Think about it. This color mix works in any season and every setting, year round!

Finally the weather here in South Florida is cooperating with us so that we can spend more time outdoors without breaking into a profuse sweat. We enjoy eating outdoors at the back of our property as there’s a nice breeze from the water and the shade of the trees. I can hardly wait for my favorite time of the year with the upcoming holiday season and dinner al fresco!

But today a Saturday brunch was calling me to create a blue and green table setting and after a 4 mile morning walk I was famished! We brought the vintage rattan chairs out of our storage shed at the side of the house for the outdoor entertaining season.

Blue And Green Table Setting Inspiration

Our millennial daughter was joining us and it inspired me to create a grandmillennial blue and green tablescape vibe! I scoured the house for some of my vintage pieces. Then I started with a favorite tablecloth (no longer available) decorated with birds. Next I grabbed some of my green cabbageware, modern flatware, Chinoiserie vases, vintage napkin rings, patina laden brass candlesticks, blue candles and a vintage French cake stand. Of course I had to have some flowers, so I headed to Trader Joes for affordable options.

Here’s a tip when you are shopping for grocery store flowers. Be sure to look for greenery and I particularly like eucalyptus, both seeded and silver dollar. Not only do they carry an intoxicating scent, but you’ll be able to purchase fewer flowers and fill your vases out with the greenery instead!

Mix And Match With What You Have

When you mix and match new pieces with what you already own it can create a perfect marriage. This goes for home decorating as well as setting a lovely table. As you shop for new pieces keep in mind how you can incorporate them in with what you have.

Everything in this J’adorn J’cor collection is timeless and can be used in any season. For the holidays I would pair these plates and napkins with holiday greenery and perhaps a bit of red or even pink Christmas balls and bits!

Pale green perfectly sized glassware will be everyday favorites at our home.

Notice how the napkins (included in the set) have a ruffle and are reflected in the ripple of the placemats and table runner. These are the nuances that help to create a beautiful scene.
