Home Tour: Cheery Beach Style Empty Nest Retreat
Aptly titled Empty Nest Retreat, this home’s color scheme is a perfect balance of crisp neutrals and cheery pops of color. Its walls – save for a couple of rooms dipped in pastels – are a luminous white.

This clean backdrop allows the cheery color story to take the main focal point. Different shades of blue, from light to dark navy, create a cool coastal backdrop complemented by light neutral hues.

In the dining room, a darker sea-foam green hue covers the upholstered chairs and the arabesque patterns of the wallpaper. Rich dark hardwood floors match the glossy table and make the blue and white tabletop decor stand out beautifully.

Awash in natural light from glass doors, the charming breakfast nook has a lovely summery feel.
White wood chairs with bleached cane backs gather around a farmhouse-style round table. The striking geometric artwork in bold black and pink hues. Tying it all together, a tablecloth mimicking the colors of the striking geometrical art piece lends a playful vibe to this delightful sun-drenched space.

We can see the same concept in the living room where the colors layer in such a way that they balance their eye-catching effect.

While the color palette stays tranquil, pops of bold accent colors like sea green, turquoise, yellow, and burnt orange add vibrant splashes throughout the room.

The bedroom blends contemporary and traditional elements for a transitional look that feels relaxed, yet stylish and serene. There are more pale colors at play, like blush pink, light sage, and pastel yellow.

Notice how the bedroom showcases many textures that enhance the peaceful ambiance rather than overwhelming it.

In the kitchen, there’s a laid-back coastal allure that I just love!

Crisp white subway tiles and custom-made countertops perfectly complemented the different hues of blue for a fresh, breezy beach-style design. Pops of vibrant color provide pretty contrast while maintaining cohesion – dark turquoise upholstered barstools and orange and blue chinoiserie vases enliven the space with just the right splash of vibrance against the serene backdrop.

The pops of color – like the bar stools wrapped in dark turquoise upholstery, the orange tabletop decor, and chinoiserie vases – add to the space with just the right splash of vibrance against the serene backdrop.
The powder room showcases a daring combination of dark blue walls and a show-stopping faux bamboo vanity in a vivid lime-yellow lacquer. While drastically different, this vibrant color scheme achieves perfect balance – the richness of the navy beautifully grounding the zesty pop of citrus yellow. An unexpectedly jewel-toned space that seamlessly complements the stunning home’s cheerful character. All of the pops of color serves to prove that an empty nest retreat does not need to be boring!
