Suzanne Kasler – Favorite Designers Series

Suzanne Kasler is an exceptionally talented interior designer who creates beautiful, tasteful, and exquisite spaces filled with sophistication and calm. Whether you want to learn more about Kasler’s style or want visual inspiration to give your home a refined flair, you need to read this post!

Over the years I have had a few designers I have always turned to when I’m in need of inspiration or crave beauty. Pinterest and Instagram provide a lot of inspiration, but sometimes they fall short. It is during those moments that I spread my books and magazines on the table and sip a cup of coffee as I enjoy the art of interior design!

One of those designers that I always go back to is Suzanne Kasler. Her style really resonates with me for it’s uncomplicated elegance.

Who is Suzanne Kasler?

One of the most well-known and prominent interior designers in the world today is Suzanne Kasler.
Her style is elegant and serene, and she is a master at mixing modern pieces with a timeless sensibility.
She creates homes that are sophisticated and polished, yet still have a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In many ways, she is the quintessential American designer and someone I always refer to.

Each of her interiors is layered and textured, creating an aesthetic that feels luxurious, but invites you in. Instead of making them look overdone, Suzanne uses just enough to make each room interesting without feeling cluttered or stuffy.

That’s why she has so many devoted followers— her interiors are always effortless and sophisticated yet look inviting.

She takes direction in her designs that are subtle and quiet at first sight. But, once you spot them it becomes obvious how pivotal they are to the overall ambiance.

She often uses neutral tones as the foundations of her designs, while subtle colors are waved throughout the spaces in small details.

One of her many secrets? She makes sure that the same color value is used across all rooms in order to create harmony and seamlessness. Isn’t that a brilliant idea?!

Now, let’s take a look at some of Suzanne Kasler’s best projects…

Favorite Suzanne Kasler Projects:

In this farmhouse-inspired home, pieces made of rustic unwashed wood pair beautifully with more polished details. Porcelain decor, elegant upholstery, and charming everyday elements like a bright yellow bouquet of flowers.

Featuring a sophisticated mix of old world and modern glam, this breathtaking room features a luxurious combination of modern elements and classical pieces. Combining traditional dark wood furnishings with light powder-blue walls, and cream-colored fabrics, the room remains spacious and open.

In the guest bathroom of a Maine compound, Kasler used an elegant yet impactful wallpaper with a subtle art deco pattern. Combined with the rustic textures -like the ladder, vintage-inspired lavatory, and brassy round mirror, the result is a delightful and unique space.

Suzanne enhanced the cool and calm aesthetic of this Texas house using pale blue-gray accents and luxurious fabrics. The juxtaposition of arched windows, decorative columns, moldings, and trims anchors the room.

Enchanting Interiors:

This charming living room nook is a timeless design that it’s both fresh and cozy. Her Hickory Chair design with striped fabric in white and low-saturated light blue makes the room feel both classic and contemporary. The space is elegant and traditional yet airy, with just a hint of French provincial style.

Suzanne created a relaxing living room for this Kips Bay Palm Beach Showhouse living room. A color palette featuring low-saturated tones, organic materials, and intricate Gracie wallpaper. The muted pink built-in bookshelves, scalloped bamboo lounge chair, and floral wallpaper in this room give it a whimsical feel.

The layered shapes and rounded decor elements- compliment the high ceilings and large open spaces. Wouldn’t this be the perfect place to unwind after a long day?!

In this living room, the interior designer created a warm and refined living room that seems perfect to host friends and family. It has a more contemporary feel than some of her designs, and her understated sophistication is perfection. The layered textures and mix of taupes, browns, and warm greys along with eclectic touches as an Asian-inspired end table and animal print chair add a fun twist to the traditional design.

Oh, my! This bedroom is just so dreamy, isn’t it? The serene color selection, plush fabrics used in every corner, and the glamorous details -like the brass finish of the lamps, frame artwork, and bed bench- are a flawless way to add a bit of luster to this tranquil space.

This striking design is a beautiful ode to blue! Easily the focal point of this glamorous pool house kitchen in Maine, the blue cabinets and walls make a statement while the white in the backsplash, countertops, and soft floral roman shades provide balance.

Suzanne Kasler’s Books:

If you’re in love with her style and want to replicate some of her key elements, I highly recommend her two books that are currently available. I’ve linked them on Amazon below for your convenience. These books are just as beautifully sophisticated as her interior designs and, I truly cannot recommend them enough!
