A Vintage Style Christmas Home Tour

A vintage style Christmas! You don’t need to go completely retro with a tinsel covered Christmas tree to impart vintage charm. In this post I’m sharing my Vintage Style Christmas Home Tour that’s tied together with an elegant flair!

If you read my recent RETRO HOLIDAYS post, you’ll know that I’m into the nostalgic look big time this year! Actually I’m always a fan of vintage style decorating and even when I work on a modern room there is ALWAYS something old included. In the living room, it’s the first room that you see when you walk in and it has to be special. My focus this year was on incorporating lots of shades of blue along with vintage styling. It all started by putting up this flocked tree (that I’ve had for a few years) and I went from there.

A Vintage Style Christmas With Blue

Since I talked about the mantel in my previous post, I’ll walk you around the rest of the room today. My tree is a 9′ Flocked Christmas tree with warm lights, similar to THIS ONE and THIS ONE (a great brand!). Check out my tree decorated for Christmas last year and find a FULL GUIDE on how I add everything to the tree in a step by step! Find that post HERE.

I knew that I wanted a rich looking deep blue velvet wired ribbon and found it here. You’ll find the white ribbon that I had from last year HERE. The shatterproof aqua ornaments are from Walmart and I just LOVE the colors and price for 50 ornaments is so budget friendly! Find that set HERE and the navy blue ones HERE. The remainder of the ornaments I’ve had for awhile and they are no longer available. My favorite garlands can be found here

A Vintage Mix For Christmas

I have had this “bowl” since way back when I used to sell antiques both locally and on eBay. It’s not actually a bowl at all though. Can you guess what it is? It’s filled with vintage Shiny Brites that are the old mercury glass fragile ones. If you happen to have any of them…check out THIS POST for a fun idea!

While I do love the Vintage Shiny Brites, they are so fragile and delicate. For a vintage style Christmas look I’ve sourced some new and reproduction nostalgic ornaments below. Just click on the photos to shop!

The other side of the mantel carries that blue nostalgic look across the room!

My china cabinet that’s another Facebook Marketplace find. If you want some thoughts on how to score amazing deals on FB, head over to this post and shop like a pro! I’ve painted the inside of this piece and added gilt gold to the mullions, but still not sure if I want to paint the outside. What do you think?

And lastly…just a few more shots of the living room, front entry and foyer. Not much done here for Christmas but I hope to add a few special touches soon!

Flowers cut from my garden in a Chinoiserie pot.

My working desk and chair in the living room…all vintage pieces.

Looking towards the front entry and I’ll be adding fresh wreaths to the double doors.

A bit more of the vintage style Christmas will be added here as well. This year I have started decorating for Christmas early and taking my time. More to come soon!
