When it comes to seasonal decor, there’s no need for any major overhauls. In my experience, the smallest additions, the little details here and there sprinkled throughout your home, make the biggest impact. Now, let’s start with the summer decor ideas, shall we?

  • Create a summer-themed gallery wall. You can change your artwork for summer-inspired photos, paintings, and abstracts with summery colors or change the frames for light and pastel-colored ones.
  • Grab shells from the beach (or get them online ;)) and fill clear jars with them for a simple and stylish coastal detail. Lots of possibilities in terms of summer decor ideas with sea shells, as I showcased in this crafty article!
  • Not a fan of wallpaper? Choose your accent wall and paint it in a bright cheerful color.
  • Put a spin on your table dressing and add some pastel colors with pops of vibrant hues. Something like striped tablecloths paired with bamboo detailed plates, glossy amber-colored goblets, and pretty green candles can give your entire dining room a new fresh vibe and delight your guests!
  • Don’t forget about the outdoors in your summer decor ideas! Create a comfy outdoor area to get some sun by placing an outdoor armchair, an ottoman, and a side table. Ground it with a faux jute waterproof rug and you’ve got a nice summery spot to enjoy the season.
  • No backyard? No problem! Transform your balcony with the same concept, but go for compact but impactful options like this boho chair and a small ottoman that doubles as a side table. To make it feel more resort-like, you can also hang drapey sheer curtains.

  • Replace wintery area rugs, like plush and faux fur, with natural fiber options like jute or sisal.
  • Summer decor ideas are all about natural light and vibrancy. To give your home a little bit of a summery feel, incorporate a bright and contrasting color to make your current decor stand out. Red can be a fun option for this, especially if you have neutrals and light blues as it really makes the entire thing work beautifully together. I mean, there’s a reason why adding a pop of red is a new big trend! But if that is not your thing (I know it can be intimidating!) you can go for emerald green, yellow, and even something like a magenta.
  • Swap out heavy throw blankets for lightweight cotton or linen options.
  • Decorate your front porch with tons of potted plants and fresh flowers. Chinoiserie planters always make for a smart and chic choice!
  • Another option that can be a bit more time-consuming is adding a portico. Check out my previous post all about these pretty additions to your front door!
